I use these for many things, but mainly for when I am baking bread in a dutch oven. Sometimes the bottom will burn, and I have found that these slings work great. I'll put them in the bottom of the Dutch oven, and place the the parchment paper with the bread dough right on top of the sling. No more burnt bottoms! And much easier to take out of the scalding hot Dutch oven

I used to use parchment paper to lower the scored loaf into my piping hot Dutch oven, but the paper would get brittle once baked. These are reusable so less waste and they make removing the baked loaf SOOO much easier. I bake at 450-500 degrees when I put the lid on the Dutch oven the "handle flaps" are outside the lid. They have not melted or weakened in any way. They wash up beautifully with burnt seeds or flours sliding right off. Very pleased, I would defiantly recommend.

Easy Homemade Bread Removal

I have made homemade bread for well over 30 years. The most frustrating thing is when a baked loaf sticks in a pan, destroying a beautiful looking loaf. I tried out these loaf slings and WOW! It was so easy to just slip the freshly baked loaf out of the pan. No sticking at all!I have two minor negative points. The round one would need to be in an exact same size as the sling. My round loaf pan I used was a bit smaller so the sling bent into the loaf a bit so it was not perfectly round. BUT, this sure beats it sticking in the pan and chunks getting broken off!My other slight negative is when I bake bread I usually bake 4 - 6 loaves at one time, so I may need to invest in another couple of sets. I would prefer having at least four of the normal bread loaf type than the round one.This being said, I really like these bread slings. It would also make a nice present for the bread baker....think Mother's Day, birthdays and bridal showers!
