Perfect silicone drying mat. Holds water well and the dishes do not slide. Well worth my purchase. I would like for the mat to be larger, but it is definitely functional. No funny smell when I removed it from the packaging.

Just what I needed
Love this roll-up mat! We have a drying rack over the sink, but this provides extra space for larger items, and easily rolls up to store under the sink when out of use.
This dish drying mat has been a lifesaver in our kitchen! It’s large enough to protect our counters from water while also doubling as a heat resistant trivet when I need it to sit down hot dishes. It’s super easy to clean just rinse it off or pop it in the dishwasher when needed. I also love how flexible it is, I can roll it up and throw it away when we’re not using it. It’s one of those simple kitchen essentials that I didn’t realize I needed it until I had it and now I can’t imagine being without it. It’s very heavy in weight so it won’t easily move when placing items on it and now I don’t have to deal with soaked cloth mats since this one dries quickly.
My wife is a great cook. The only problem with that is that there often are a lot of pots and pans that have to be washed. Having a nice silicone drying mat is very helpful for those big pots and pans when the drying side of the sink fills up. When I saw the KR KITCHENRAKU silicone 15.7x23.6 dish drying mat I decided to give it a try.PIC1 is a close-up of the top of the mat and PIC2 is a close-up of the bottom of the mat. PIC3 is a close-up of the edge of the mat which is approximately 1/8 inch thick.The Amazon product description states the mat is made with 100% soft food grade silicone, is BPA free and non-toxic. It also states that it is heat resistant up to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Because it is heat resistant up to 425F it can also serve as a place to put that hot pot/pan directly off the burner.Our mat is gray but it is also available in beige and black.PIC4 shows the counter width mat next to the drying side of our sink. I put a 5 quart pot and large cast iron skillet on it so you can get an idea on its size.If you are looking for a silicone drying mat you should consider the KR KITCHENRAKU 23.6x15.7 inch drying mat. It will get the job done!
This silicone dish-drying pad is well made. It's thick enough to place on a counter without fiddling or without any wrinkling, yet it's supple enough to roll up when not in use. The lip around the edges is about 1/8 inch high, as are the ridges within the mat that allow air to flow beneath dishes or other items placed on the mat to dry. I thought it might be too shallow to hold much water, but I poured 16 ounces of water onto the mat and it wasn't filled. That's considerably more than drips from wet dishes, so I find the mat is indeed deep enough for its purpose. One minor nit-pick is that there's not a notch that can be positioned to allow water to drain into the sink. Some similar mats have that. Even so, I found I was easily able to scoot the filled mat to the sink's edge and carefully, lift it slightly to allow the water to drain into the sink. Using it as intended, the small amount of water that accumulates from dripping dishes will evaporate or be easy to mop up or pour off. I will also be using this pad as a large, heatproof trivet when serving guests buffet style. I'm very pleased with this product.
