Does exactly what it should
This rubber mat goes underneath your dish drying rack, sitting on the counter next to your sink, allowing excess water to drain right into the sink, and it really does exactly that! It's slightly elevated on one side so that the water runs toward the open spout that goes into the sink, and the raised edges keep and water from spilling out into your counter.I have a super small sink living in a studio apartment, and the dish rack was taking up 3/4 of the sink, so this was exactly what I needed. It's high quality, heavy duty, not flimsy at all, which I was a little concerned about because it's really inexpensive.I'd absolutely recommend this for anyone, and I wish that I'd thought to get this a long time ago!By the way, Amazon did right by me when it was a long time overdue and "lost," so sent me another immediately and said if the first one ever arrives to keep it. Thumbs up, Amazon. The second arrived within two days!

Durable dish drying mat.

Water doesn't drain into the sink like I'd hoped
It's nice that it has a lip to drain water into the sink, but it sits level on the counter so the water never really runs into the sink, it just collects between the ridges. I have to remove the dishes and tilt the entire mat to drain it. I tried putting something under the edge to tilt it, but the silicone is so flexible that the water just collects in the middle. It's rather small, but will work until we find something we like better.

The mat physically cannot drain wanted into a sink that has a raised edge
If you were expecting the water to drain out of this mat and into the sink, you will be disappointed to know that its design does not allow gravity to fulfill that requirement—especially if you have a raised lip on your kitchen sink (see photos/video). The mat sits completely parallel to a kitchen counter, there’s no raised end that allows water to spill down into the sink. It’s also very floppy silicone, I realize I didn’t read the reviews thoroughly about this. Only reason I’m keeping it is because it was on sale and its new purpose is raising the back end of the draining/drying dish purchased at Target. And catching any water that occasionally works its way under it. Honestly don’t buy the product. I’m just too lazy to find something else since most of these types of products aren’t raised enough to drain into my kitchen.
