Works great - much better than using oven mitts!

Really glad I got these! I'm new to using a cast iron skillet and have to say I love it. It was always messy trying to use oven mitts when the handles got hot. They still get pretty warm if you're cooking for a long time, but I don't have to worry about burning myself. I also like that I can easily wash and dry these, verses the oven mitts I'd have to put in th laundry everytime I got food on them. Definitely a great value for the price. I really enjoyed the color options as well.

They stay in place and protect your hands

These handles fit perfectly on our Lodge cast iron frying pan. My husband had burned himself several times with pot holders slipping off the heavy pan. These work great, they stay in place and grip the pan. No heat gets thru.

Glad I didn't get the small as I don't think ...

It needs to be a little bigger. We got the large size and it doesn't fit the bigger skillets 12 or 16 inch. It Only fit the small 10in skillet. Glad I didn't get the small as I don't think it would have fit. It is a good product though.

Works but has a curveball, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Read the warning when you get it. It goes into more detail, but basically you can’t expose the holder to heat from the outside, because it reflects it or something like that. The surface of the inside of the potholder (the part that touches the metal) is what gets hot and protects you from the hot metal, but if the exterior of the potholder (the part you hold) is too close to a flame or hot burner, or if it is in a hot oven, it will reflect heat off of the outside surface as well (if you pick it up or will be hot as SH$&@$??:&$)&!:!?&T and will burn the hell out of you). It says this plainly in the directions, but I did not remember reading that in the description on the product. In my opinion that means you have to keep taking it off any time it is on the stove to keep the outside from getting hot which is a hastle and can be kind of dangerous. That’s why I’m only giving it 3 stars.It works best when you just want to take a finished pan off the stove for good.It’s alright for taking a pan off the stove and to the counter or sink and back once or twice.It’s a hastle for any cooking involving a lot of on-and-off the stove and/or in-and-out of the oven, if that makes sense.

A Must Have

These fit my 14" lodge cast iron skillet perfectly. Not only were they protecting the handles from heat but made it easier to lift the skillet. I would never use my skillet without them. I tossed them in the dishwasher (top rack) and they came out clean and like new. A must have!

I really like the blue color

Just what I need to handle my 12" cast iron skillet. My first Lodge holder got charred because I kept it on the skillet when it was on the burner. I will keep there off the skillet when it is on the burner or in the oven and only use them when I need to move the skillet. They get a little warm but they do keep you from getting burned, especially the one for the "helper" handle. I really like the blue color.

These SUCK!

We have and use a LOT of cast iron skillets. These are the worst handles we have ever used. 1) They are super thin. 2) They are so thin and flimsy that they don't grab the cast iron handle well enough. Definitely not something you want for daily use. Just saying...
