Great with tight nottled
I have severely damaged hands from a house fire, years ago . Was hoping these “jar openers” would come in handy, since the only one I had finally wore out . Couldn’t find any of these at my local Walmart so decided to just get them thru Amazon . 4 pack arrived on time . Was excited to try one out - it would be easier to use your own hands …super slick, NO grip on these rubber pads…AT ALL !!! I would advise searching elsewhere - these are terrible !! That’s the problem with buying certain things online - you can’t “feel” the product .Good luck in your searches ….
Smaller and thin, do not allow a grip on the jar, too smooth, do not work well at all
Economical and works perfectly.
I used to have these red rubber pads for opening jars, and they were fantastic, but they wore out, so I bought these things to replace them. Unfortunately, they're not quite as "grippy" (for lack of a better word) as the other ones I had. They're not "bad" by any means. They do help, but they slip more than others I have used. I think the main problem is their smoothness:One side is completely smooth, and the other has a bit of texture. Not much, and therein, I think, lies the problem. The other ones I referred to have more texture -- a crosshatch pattern that provides more grip.I reckon these pads would last quite some time, so that should be no issue, since they're so inexpensive. Because they're silicone, you can wash them along with the dishes easily enough. Hopefully, the manufacturer will add some more texture to improve them; that kind of retooling could be done overnight at minimal cost.
Both sides are the smooth side but it’s able to grip enough to get the job done.
