This cover fits both my stainless steel bowl and the ice cream bowl, which has a slightly smaller rim. I am using it right now to cover the ice cream bowl in the freezer. I’ll see how it holds up. I may purchase a second one to use on the stainless steel bowl separately, since this one may be in the freezer most of the time keeping the ice cream bowl clean for next use. The cover is flexible but made of decently thick silicone. It had a sturdy feel and I think if it hold up in the freezer, it will last a long time. Even the sealing ridges are a good depth and thickness, so I think it will work well to keep the bowls clean.
Fits perfect and easy to take on and off for proofing dough. I wish it matched my teal kitchen aid color.
This is one of the absolutely best purchases I’ve made in a while. I got this off brand because the reviews were actually better than the brand name. It makes two quarts. It was soft serve consistency last night and absolutely perfect consistency tonight (after putting leftovers in individually portioned containers in the freezer). You keep the empty bowl in the back of the freezer. Pre-mix your ingredients to 46 oz recipe. Get the bowl and attachment on mixer and set it to stir before pouring in your mix. Takes about 30 minutes to mix/freeze. No ice. No rock salt. Just mix on the lowest/stir setting. Pour up leftovers and freeze those.I let the ice cream bowl thaw to room temp overnight and then hand-washed it the next morning. Then, after air drying all day, just put it back into the freezer so that it’s ready for next time.
This fits my Kitchenaid bowl perfectly and makes a nice seal. The material is thick enough to feel strong, but not too bulky to make it difficult to fit or bend. The color is also really pretty and vibrant. The only issue is that there was a slight imperfection on the inside of a the lid -- a tiny speck really -- and you have to put the lid on a certain way if the bowl is still in the mixer to have room for the tabs, but usually if I'm putting a lid on, the bowl is coming out of the mixer anyway. Overall, feels like a quality product and is much nicer for storing batter or frosting in the bowl than trying to cover it with plastic wrap or tin foil that slide off and don't make as nice a seal.
It fits the mixer bowl perfectly... works so much better than foil or cling-wrap I've used all these years
I’m on my third bowl. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bowl cracks. The first one cracked within the return time frame so it wasn’t an issue. The second bowl cracked a month or so past the return deadline. I contacted customer service and they agreed to refund the bowl. I thought I’d try buying from Kitchenaid directly but the bowl costs 4x and they have the same issue according to reviews. So I decided to buy this bowl I’m currently reviewing. It looked just the same as the others but a different vendor. I received it and it’s exactly the same bowl, same packaging, etc. I had decided to buy the 3 year warranty for about $6.00. I don’t know if the warranty will cover multiple replacements for three years or if I wasted my $6.00 because I don’t expect it to last more than a couple months although as we’ve moved to fall we’re probably not going to use it as frequently as throughout the summer. We’ll see.
