I really like this little steamer set. I used it for frozen green beans last night using the non-partitioned insert, and they came out perfect. It also reheated my sous vide pork and mashed potatoes like a champ. Hot, tender, no weird textures.I just wish it came with some kind of instruction sheet. I can tell it’s more versatile than I’m giving it credit for, but I have to wing it. I’ll figure it out, but it would’ve been nice to have a guide for times, setups, etc.A larger size option would be great too. The listing photos made it look a bit bigger than it is, though it still works perfectly for one or two servings. The double-layer design is smart, and I love that it keeps different foods separate. My only gripe? The bottom dividers aren’t removable, so it limits how flexible it can be. (Example: rice on the bottom, fish on top.)Even with those small nitpicks, I’m happy with it. It’s compact, easy to clean, and great for quick, healthy meals.
This is different from any microwave steamers I have ever used. There are absolutely no instructions for use, or a manual to refer to. On the description it states refer to instruction manual. There isn't one provided. Therefore, it is useless to me.
This is a fantastic steamer! The silicone of the three body pieces are heavy duty, not thin and cheap like some silicone products sometimes are. This isn't going to bend or give way under the weight of scalding hot food as you're removing it from the microwave. There are two different inserts, one specifically for steaming, meant to have water added below it, and the second with dividers, although with the addition of water below it this can also be cooked with moisture added to the dish. The lid was made of a thinner silicone, but as its only function is to cover the food, this is not a concern. I LOVE that the lid has vent holes, which lessens the amount of dripping hot steam trapped in there at the end of cooking. Somehow, even knowing that a container is going to be steaming hot, I'm that person. I always grab it too quickly and burn my fingers and this lessened that after a trial run with broccoli, LOL!It will take a small amount of trial and error to get the right time dialed in for steaming - in our house this is being used only for veggies- but after playing around a bit the broccoli and green beans that came out were done PERFECTLY. Tender crisp, still fresh and green looking and clean up is much easier than using a pan on the stovetop.I highly recommend this steamer, would buy it again!
It’s a little on the small size for steaming vegetables, especially for feeding 3 or more people, but otherwise it works well and is easy to clean.
I haven't had a chance to use it, because it came with no instructions.
And I’m not savvy enough to figure this out. I’ve played around and made a few attempts at steaming broccoli and string beans but I’ve not been successful and I’m not willing to spend the time it takes to figure out the exact way to do something. I live alone so the size would be perfect for me.Some of us just need instructions.
