Used this to make an edible lace net on a cake. Worked great. It did take a lot of edible lace and had to keep building/ baking the lace to get it to work. The cavities were hard to fill. I think I baked it 3 different times after filling each time. It was hard to get the edible lace down in the crevices. (But that may be normal) this was my first time using this type of thing
Nice molds. I used it with paper clay for a desk redo.
Mold makes good copies. very clean with good detail. Easy to clean.
What happens when someone who is extremely creative but cannot draw a straight line wants to make beautiful things? She gets even more creative and finds tools that can render the images in her head without actually having to spend years learning drawing techniques (well I am trying that too but in the meantime....)I have recently started to use silicone molds with air dry clay foam to render the images I want, instead of having to draw them, I mold and paint, faster, more fun, less labor, painting techniques be doomed (well my talent is what's doomed but I want to make colorful and pretty things and I found a way).It is not easy to create "mesh" or "net" out of fondant, clay or mold. It does require some patience but result is well worth it and since this mold has 3 sections. I can make all I need in one shot.
I'm actually using these to make all sorts of decorations, from jewelry to hanging ornaments. The silicone is top-notch and doesn't stick to the polymer clay. (Although if the clay is warm, you will need to dust the mold with cornstarch.)This is a really cool abstract design that lends itself to all kinds of projects. I will try to remember to post a picture of the shoulder-duster earrings I made!
