Beautiful

This is an excellent cutlery set.With holidays rolling around it's always good to have one really excellent cutlery set you can bring out when you want to impress everybody. This set had the design I was looking for with a high gloss gold finish as well as boasting a stainless steel metal quality and a price that suggests you're getting good quality.Set arrived in a very nice elegant glitter finish black box that had a gold latch. I like this because when it comes for things I won't use all the time I go for efficiency over display and that means when the time comes that these can be packed away so much easier than simply spreading them out in a drawer.If, however, you are someone who's planning to make these your daily cutlery you'll be happy with how beautiful they look while arranged and how well they hold up the roughness of eating and cleaning. You receive 16 sets of four pieces which allows you to serve a fairly large group and so far everyone who's encountered them in my celebrations have been quite pleased with them.

A golden set for special occasions

Picked the gold ones out because I like the Roman column style on these and the gold color looks decorative and refined. They have a solid heavyweight feel to them, the balance is very good, and each piece has a quite decent grip. Durability seems excellent, so no worries about chipping, color change, or tarnish. The set comes in a nice wooden box with padding and a clasp to hold it closed, so storage is a simple thing when you put them away.The size of the spoons is the only thing that seems a bit off, where the larger spoon feels just a bit wide, and the teaspoon a bit on the small side. Otherwise the knife and fork are a great size for everything, and the spoons will work just fine for either a lot or a little (so you'll get to display the whole set every time). All in all its a great set for special occasion use and for gold silverware these look really nice.

Solid construction.

This is a well executed (and not entirely inexpensive) set that complements a variety of dinnerware styles, including flatware. The pieces are stainless steel with hefty Roman column handles.Each individual piece is significantly heavy due to the very robust construction. These are definitely the thickest and strongest silverware pieces in my collection, and the initial impression is one of quality. It will take a fair bit of force to bend the tines of the forks, for instance. The same is true of the spoons, which will not bend easily.The finish quality is generally good, albeit there is the odd light mark or two. (The imperfections in the photos are dust and debris, not pitting or finish imperfections). It is a classy looking set.The handles have a columnar style that makes them look regal, but due to the ridges they are not necessarily the most comfortable. That's a tradeoff between form and function, not a flaw.I'll complete the review after some use (including putting the set through the dishwasher to see how they hold up). On the whole I am impressed.Finally, the storage box is quite handsome. The one quibble I have is that the foam insert layers are cut for a curved knife design rather than the straight knife that is included in the set. This means that the knives do not fit properly in the foam trays.
