It is beautiful!
Solid block, smooth finish and very strong magnets. Disappointed with the quality of the feet. Feet required specific arranging to keep from “Wobbling”. Will likely hand sand and finish the feet in the future.Had an issue with the first blocks finish that arrived. Contacted seller. Seller was genuinely concerned and worked towards a resolution. Return issued through Amazon. I had full confidence if another block arrived with issues the seller would make things right.
Looks great works great
Stunning block! The color is rich, and the quality is exquisite. I purchased this block because I thought and this is my fault, but I thought it came with the beautiful knives in the picture. I should have read the fine print, but I was very disappointed when I opened the box to only the block. Also disappointed that after reading the pamphlet inside, they provided several M3 sticky mount hooks for all of your smaller knives. Like the picture is showing pairing knives and steak knives look great on the block, but according to this pamphlet they provided and it is true. The smaller blades have less magnetic surface area so if your handles are heavy, the smaller knife’s don’t stand up straight or they really struggle to hold on to the magnetic board itself, if you were to install these sticky hooks that hold the smaller knives it would look incredibly silly to have these huge metal bracket hooks holding your knives and it would take up so much space of the beautiful board you would not be able to see the woodgrain. One entire side would be completely full of these mounted hooks. However, they are nice hooks a higher quality they don’t look cheap and they are decent quality, but that’s not what I bought this board, I wanted beautiful display for beautiful knives as a showpiece that is also functional. It would be like putting the Mona Lisa painting on display under Walmart’s fluorescent lighting. You would cover up so much of the beautiful board having these hooks. There is an almost identical and two other magnetic boards available on Amazon from $40-$78 less than this one. I had them in my cart and I was watching all of them. After two months of this one, never going down in price, and the other ones were clearly labeled “knives not included“, I figured yes I will pay the difference because you get the knives and the board. I would not have purchased this knowingly that the knives did not come with it. I went back to the post and it does mention the knives are not included, but you must read all the way through everything and it is very deceiving. It really should be at the top front and center knives not included in the description. I would’ve been just happy with the others for less money. I purchased one of the other boards that looks almost identical to this one as a gift, I was hoping the less expensive one would be less quality in person so I would feel better about my purchase, but to my surprise, the other board is just as great and was $60 less. I had already taken everything apart and thrown it all away. Otherwise I would have returned it and purchased another one and then that would have been $60 towards a set of knives. We live and learn. Still very happy with what I received. But overall, not a fair price in my opinion and don’t care to be deceived by fine print. I will say it was packaged well and the care and thought behind the smaller knives being an issue, this company made the effort to include a solution with the hooks and they were a decent quality hook. Still not sure what I’m going to do with all of these hooks, but someday they might find a purpose. The company could have said if purchasing our board we have a solution for smaller knives and we will include for free hooks if you wish. Knowing I don’t want any sticker hooks, obstructing the beautiful craftsmanship and woodwork or the aesthetics of the board I would’ve said just keep them. Save them a little bit of money. But then that would be a company being too forthcoming, and have the customer question purchasing the board because knives are going to have an issue and may reconsider purchasing, like I would have.
It is beautiful and holds the knives really well.
I thought this was purely for the kitchen, and it’s excellent for active use, but I’ve found I like it even more for my pocketknives! Not every folder is compatible; it’s best with straight blades. The ones with a curve tend to tip to one side, and sometimes a thumb nut interferes with the balance or contact. The back has two resin strips across the top where the magnets are hidden, and it definitely has six spots where the magnetism is stronger, acting as built-in spacing, but it holds all the way across along both sides. I can even stick certain folded knives on it below the shorter blades, using the two magnet rows independently. It holds 12 kitchen blades optimally; I’ve squeezed in eight across the front plus two folded below. Cleavers tend to take two spots. It’s got good utility, beyond that of a typical knife block. I like the versatility of being compatible with odd shapes and a variety of sizes. The blades often sit on their hilt or handle, it adds some stability over pure magnetism. I like the strength of the magnetism, it’s in the sweet spot where the blades stick securely and can be removed without disrupting the entire board. The wood surface provides a soft landing that I trust with my best steel. The finish is smooth, but not overly polished that would show marks quickly. I can tell this is made by knife people, people who use their own products and build them to meet their own demands. The wood has interesting grain and the resin pigment is swirled nicely. The piece has seamless transitions between the wood and the resin.
For a well-equipped kitchen that demands ample storage and a touch of elegance, this XL magnetic knife block is an excellent choice. This is clearly a premium storage solution designed for serious cooks or those with large knife collections, and while the price point is definitely high for a kitchen accessory, the sheer capacity and design quality are what you are paying for.The sheer size is the defining feature: with the XL design holding up to 24 knives (12 per side), it truly accommodates a full professional set, including large chef’s knives and specialty tools like kitchen shears. However, it's important to note that this massive capacity comes with a trade-off: for those with limited counter space, this block takes up a significant footprint and can feel overpowering. It is arguably better suited for a commercial kitchen or a spacious home kitchen island where the large scale is actually a benefit. The aesthetic and build quality are impressive. The block is handcrafted from durable pine wood and features an artisan-applied grain design, giving it a refined, distinctive beauty. While the finish is generally well-executed, I personally found the lighter pine color to look somewhat faux against my existing decor, suggesting the look might not appeal to all tastes.Crucially, the ENHANCED MAGNETIC HOLD is strong, providing a secure, reliable grip that keeps knives firmly in place without dulling their edges—a major advantage over traditional slots. Despite its XL nature, the reinforced pedestal base ensures stability. This magnetic block is a powerful statement piece where functional storage meets elegant design, provided you have the space and preference for its unique scale and finish.
