We bought this a few years ago when we noticed our KitchenAid brand attachment had begun to develop cracks.Today we brought it out when the original died. This attachment is superior to the original in form, construction and performance.Easy to clean, easy to attach, easy to detach.Superior.
Fits into my Kitchen made attachment holder perfectly. Makes perfect log, stingy, thick hash browns. I am so happy! noi more grating potatoes by hand!!
Very happy with this shredder attachment. It's easy to assemble and disassemble, slicing cabbage, grating block cheddar, carrots and zucchini with ease. I prefer to run on medium to medium-low speed to (same soeed as my old food processor slicer/grater) to easily direct the food into a bowl / plate. Raising the container to the grater helps make less mess, but this was also helpful with my old grater shredder. Love that it is dishwasher safe and comes out very clean. I've been using it for several months and it's been a breeze to use.
I bought this FavorKit Slicer/Shredder Attachment L82201 for the KitchenAid Stand Mixer, and instead of the KitchenAid version of this tool. This tool is far more durable, substantial, and easier to clean than other versions. It mounts easily and operates "almost" perfect. A problem is that the Food Pusher is about 1/16th of an inch too long and damages the blade assemblies (Slicing and Course Shredding blades) when slicing and shredding.I solved the too-long Food Pusher by installing a 2.25" diameter rubber O-ring (from Lowe's plumbing section) under the Food Pusher flange.Also, the factory KitchenAid Attachment Screw Knob is difficult to tighten and loosen, particularly behind this attachment and with my older fingers. Instead, I replaced it with a Lowe's Fluted Knob w/male stud -5/16"-18 X 1-3/4. I ground down the inserted end of the stud to a dull point - like the factory knob. Now the attachment (and all attachments) is much easier to exchange.I still have two damages and useless blades (Slicing and Course Shredding blades)! I hope the factory can replace them.1.10.23 Update: I sent a note to the manufacturer requesting help. Also, found that the lid from a 11.3oz Great Value coffee can makes a good cover for the output opening on the attachment.1.17.23 Update 2: I received a second boxed attachment 1.16.23. Thank you.
I've used this to grate cheese and cabbage for slaw. It does such a good job for both. I have the Kitchen Aide shredder attachment, but I like this so much more. Solid stainless steel with no plastic parts. I'm sure I will be using this for a lot more. Highly recommend!
Love it! I ordered a different one, looked the same, but was $15 cheaper. It was a hunk of junk and I returned it and ordered this one. I love it. The inserts feel like they are better made than the other one. The chute is twice as big on this one for starters. I shredded two blocks of cheese in less than five minutes and had it cleaned and put away in another five. Highly recommend.
Works excellently, cleans easily! Very happy with our purchase!
