Exactly as described. "Heavy gauge" plastic pitcher body and leak-proof lid. Fits perfectly in the door shelf of the refrigerator. I bought the 2-pitcher set, intended to give one to my elderly mom. Unfortunately, the lid requires a bit of "oomph" to screw on/off. There's no way my elderly mom could get the lid on/off. But, it works perfectly for my needs. Following the instructions to start with the lid spout pointing OUT/away from the pitcher, the lid screws on very securely with absolutely no leakage.

What customers should know is:First go to the video reviews and watch Juliana Kester demonstrate how this product works! Her review is essentially why I decided to buy this particular pitcher out of all the others I looked at.It is truly leakproof! It has a remarkable seal to it so that what you put in it stays there and the locking spout is an added feature to make sure liquid stays inside!It's exactly slim enough for my refrigerator door. But like it says; you can lay it or stack it on its sides!The capacity is also very good. It holds a little more than 1 quart, which is what I was looking for so I could transfer milk from a slippery carton to a container with a handle.It's made of a nice durable material also. It is also sooo very easy to clean which is important when dealing with milk products!Watch her video carefully to see how you position the lid! Also understand that the seal is so tight that you might need some extra muscles to get it opened and closed!! But it's very easy to use once you understand the positioning.Also one additional thing I'd like to say is that is tells you on the container to not pour boiling water directly into the pitcher. So if you make tea (for iced tea) then you'll want to make it in a separate container and let it cool down prior pouring it into this pitcher for storing.I found the price point to be very good also, so I bought one of each color (a black top and a white top) and I really am enjoying them.So I would definitely tell anyone to buy this if you're I the market for a new pitcher, or to give as a gift!

This 2 quart pitcher is a perfect size for your refrigerator however, the top is almost impossible to twist off. When finally getting it off and filling it ,it is also impossible to twist it back on.to where you can pour from it.
