    Good quality heavy glass casserole dish

    I started getting into baking casserole dishes, and I already had a 9 x 13 dish, and a couple of 8 x 8 dishes, and a 7 x 5 dish, but these make way too much for just me and my wife. The 7 x 5 was pretty close to what I needed, but it was still too big, even though it is only 1.5 inches deep. These 5 x 5 dishes are 2 inches deep and seem to be the perfect size for a one-time meal without having to refrigerate leftovers. I have not tried them yet, but I am sure they will work fine. This last casserole was a huevos rancheros with two eggs on top. I baked it in the 7 x 5 dish, and it came out great, but we had to eat half yesterday and the other half today. I am pretty sure that these 5 x 5 dishes will work great with the huevos rancheros, along with the scalloped potatoes, eggplant parmesan, bacon asparagus, and maybe even the hamburger casserole. I have not mastered it yet, but it looks like the trick is to do all the prep for these casseroles right up to the point of baking, and then use only what fits in the 5 x 5 dish, and save the rest for the next day or two.These are great little glass baking dishes. I would buy them again.
