This worked great for a beginner like me to make my daughters galaxy cake. The quality was much better than I thought it would be and the products are reusable. The sizes give you so many options on the cake you want to create.
This system is great for supporting multiple tiers of small cakes. Haven't used on on a larger diameter cake yet. Sturdier than dowels, stabilizes cake well, but using the smallest ones sort of seems to use up a lot of cake (although I love pulling these out of the layers and sucking the cake out of the straw, haha). Cuts to size easily.
So I guess I should have looked at the pictures more closely. The plastic plates say happy birthday around the edges and I'm using it for a wedding cake. The sizes aren't quite correct, and I'm concerned for the stability as the dowls seem to have a little give. Im not exactly sure what other reviews are talking about when they say the plates lock together? Because mine do not.
I have ordered this set twice for making wedding cakes. It has worked great and I would order it again. It's easy to assemble and the cakes are very sturdy.
Hard plastic, great for my small 3 tier cake I made. Held up nicely. I do wish directions came with for the rods. The soft rods were easy to cut, the white ones were too hard to cut, but sturdy. Good quality for a great price. Not sure if replacement rods are available. Worked fantastic and held the cake up nicely for over 6 hours...(cut the cake at that time)
Worth the buy! It stabilizes heavy cakes Great!
