I bought this specifically for my air fryer because I always had to pull it away from the wall due to the heat. With this tray, it glides forward effortlessly—those 360° wheels roll incredibly smoothly. The size is perfect for my counter, and the surface feels sturdy and easy to clean.
Useful appliance counter platform that moves in all directions. The design is simple...a thick piece of Lucite type plastic that sits on top of a ball bearing roller set. The rollers are a clever design, and work very well and have the real virtue of allowing movement in all directions. Many other designs only allow forward and backward rolling. I have read that some others have had the bearings fail due to dirt accumulation in it. I definitely see how that could end up being a show stoper. However, I think they should work well so long as you don't try to roll them around on dirty or wet counters, but for our application where we tested it (under an air fryer) we don't have that problem. The real negatives that I will note are that the "integrated stopper" is most certainly not integrated in any way! The stopper is a long rubber rectangle that you roll the device over to catch it via the handle area. It works well to stop the platform from moving, but unfortunately does get dislodged too easily when we close the air fryer trey/door. We have found if you use the stopper at the side of the platform, it works much better...however you need to lift up the platform and the device sitting on it to set the stopper in place. I think a truly mechanically integrated option should be though out.... particularly given the price point once you get into the larger sizes. We actually want to order a large one for our automatic coffee center...but the large ASAF model is still listed at over $50 dollars. For that amount I would expect a better stoper design!
This is a shrewd invention, practical, and it looks good. Why didn't someone come up with this idea a long time ago?My wife has rheumatoid arthritis which makes it difficult for her to use her fingers and hands for manual labor, even something seemingly routine like pulling a Keurig coffee maker away from the wall. Even a little resistance can be painful, but the Smoovee mitigates that to a large extent because it allows the coffee maker to piggyback! The item sits close enough to the floor, hiding surreptitiously until it's called into duty. The wheels seem to be well engineered, sliding whatever it is carrying to the appropriate destination without much noise. And because it awaits in hiding, unless one knows to look for it, it is largely unnoticeable. One might even mistake it for a coffee maker attachment. In fact, it perfectly matches the color of our Keurig, as if it came with it.Sadly, since many consumers are not familiar with the concept of this product, the higher than expected price point may keep them from investing in this wholly optional kitchen device. The surface is a finely finished piece of plastic, matching the top of a scale I purchased at Costco. We have other appliances that are also shiny black: a toaster, dishwasher, even an oven. Indeed, it looks like it belongs.Other than the unreasonably high price tag, my primary groan has to do with the instructions, which are not well written. In fairness, that seems to be true of many products, but when safety is an issue, you want to make sure you get it right. I'd hate to see the whole thing take a nosedive off the counter. The "brake" -- a piece of rubber -- is supposed to be the part which keeps your appliance from rolling off of the counter. Does it work? Sadly, I really can't say because the description of the so-called brake and its process is clear as mud. I was left to fend for myself. A much better product would have designed the braking system right into the device. It seems like an afterthought, not a thoughtful engineering solution.I didn't really get the idea of using female names, like hurricanes, for each model. Why? How about something more descriptive and reflective of the appliance which is supposed to sit on it?I thought I was buying the model for my Instant Pot, which was too large for the model I ordered. That's fine. My fault for not measuring better. Alas, I pivoted and it works well with the coffee maker.Excellent invention, probably too expensive, but if one can abide that and figure out the cobbled together brake function, then this item may be worthwhile.
The 360° wheels are unbelievably smooth! My heavy mixer glides out from under the cabinet with minimal effort. The base itself is sleek and modern so it blends nicely with my counter. Bonus: cleaning behind/under my appliances is now way easier since I can slide everything forward without having to lift. If you’re dealing with bulky gadgets or want to regain counter space, this is one of the better tools I’ve used.
I really love how this looks like in my kitchen! Is a before and after! Good quality material, plastic and shiny.
