Glorified vinyl tablecloth that does the job I need it to

If a person accepts the fact that none of these pads are as thick as the ad illustrations and actually looks at a measuring tape to see what a mm really is, they should be satisfied with this pad. This is basically a solid white vinyl tablecloth with a textured design on it.The flannel side is soft and even and slightly thicker than the typical vinyl tablecloth. The plastic side protects against moisture. It’s easy to trim to the exact size needed. It lays flat enough once it’s relaxed and has some weight on it. The flannel side does move easily against the table but it’s the resistance against the plastic top that keeps it from sliding around too much. It might scrunch slightly but it doesn’t really slide. I have mine under a clear protector so it doesn’t move at all. It’s light and thin enough to fold up and put away if you don’t want to use it permanently. But it’s heavy enough to stay neatly on the table or under a tablecloth. Because it’s white I wouldn’t use it without something else on top of it. You certainly could if you wanted, but that would make it quite expensive for a tablecloth that might stain and be tossed. Will it protect against moisture? It’s plastic so yes. Will it protect against scratches? From regular wear and tear, this should do fine. If you’re worried about gouges or deep mars, I’d add a thicker layer of something. Will it protect against heat and hot dishes? It has a plastic coating, so I’d say no. There are plenty of solutions for that like trivets and potholders. I’m always surprised by reviewers that mark down thin plastics for not being heat resistant. If you must have heat resistance look for silicone and expect to pay more.Does it do the job I want it to do at a price I’m comfortable with? Personally, I think all these glorified vinyl tablecloths called pads are overpriced for the minor difference in padding they provide. But of all the available options, I chose this one for size and thickness for the price. For me, it’s 5 stars.

Love this table protection pad.

This is a very nice table protection pad. It's not thick but for me that was perfect. (The thicker the more wrinkles). It's folded in the package for who knows how long. This one had wrinkles, but I just put it in my dryer with damp towels and all the wrinkles came out. Don't have to leave it in there very long. The pattern is nice although you don't see that under a tablecloth. Also, it was easy to cut to the size I needed. I am very happy with it. I think the price was a great value too.

It’s not much better than a $5.00 plastic table cloth…

I like that it’s waterproof. I also like that it’s quilted with a flannel like product on the bottom. The negatives, mine was obviously a return that was open and refolded. Therefore, it was heavily wrinkled. I had to place it in my dryer on steam for about 3-4 minutes. You can’t leave plastic in for 10 minute cycle, as it could melt and ruin the dryer. It didn’t seem much better than the inexpensive $5.00 plastic table cloth I was using. After smoothing it out on the table overnight. I put s tablecloth over it and the puckers and deep creases looked horrible. So I used a clean white dish towel. I got the towel wet, wrung it out and placed it over the table cloth. Then used my steam iron and ironed over the towel, quickly moving on to the next area. By limiting the heat and steam to a quick once over. I was able to get the table protector to relax and the deep folds and creases to subside.

PERFECT PRODUCT

Read reviews before purchase for dining room table. I was mine one extension pad on table so decided on liner underneath table cloth. Very pleased that no sliding noticed and weight was perfect. Much more reasonable than the second I purchased in anticipation of possibly needing it. Glad I could keep this quality and less expensive one. I needed the zie for my 110 inch table so no cutting required. I would highly recommend.

Works okay.

Bought to cover a small teak dining table. Functional enough, but the vinyl top and the flannel backing are very thin. Just hope the cat doesn't decide to scratch on it.
