Replaces cracked lids

I use the largest size ribbed bowls as my salad bowls. The plastic lids that Pyrex supplies with these large bowls crack early and often - they are far less durable than my food storage lids. They are the most crackable of all the Pyrex lids (I have them all). This is a great lid. It isn't a crack prone material, isn't plastic, and actually seals. Usage note: allow it to bulge very slightly as you run your hand around the rim to seal it. Resist the urge to burp it like Tupperware, that will make it tip on the rim. It fits great if you don't burp it!My only con is that this size comes only in orange. I don't know why they can't make all sizes in the full color assortment. Most people I know use this large size because it's the perfect salad bowl for potlucks and barbecues. It would be nice if we could choose our color, or at least something more neutral. Not a lot of orange kitchens out there. It's not a big deal, though, since it's mostly in my fridge when the lid is on.

Great replacement lids

I could not find replacement pyrex lids for two sets of bowl. I had some silicone ones that just sat on top of the bowls but they were always falling off in the fridge. These work great! It's not 100% but they are very close ... the best I was able to find. These kept me from having to get new bowls! We're very happy!
