The lotus leaf shape of this ladle makes it excellent for getting hold of the smaller vegetables at the bottom of the pot - especially peas. The shape is also very useful when scooping toward the side of the pot, because it's as easy to load going forward as sideways. The bowl is deep enough to hold a nice heaping scoopful. It also has a cutout for ease of pouring. I think this is going to be my favorite ladle.

As stated although I did run mine through the dishwasher and it's fine.
This is such a great item, I just wish it was the one I ordered. I wanted the ladle/spoon without the drain holes it it. I got the one with the holes. I will find a use for it though. Super nice, great quality and will probably last a lifetime.

This is a very nice ladle. The metal is thick, the packaging/labeling was great and it works perfectly...but not for soup.I received (as you can see in the pictures) a ladle that has holes in it. Disappointing.
I am very happy with this ladle, at the end of a day a ladle is a ladle right? But this one is definitely a step above the rest and much more durable then most you see out there. It also is a little longer as well which I love about it and you can tell when you are dragging it through thick soup it does not waiver or feel like it is bending. It is very solid.
