This took a little fixing to get the temperature right - if I set it at 68° my starter or dough will be at about 74°. I had used a heating pad for almost a year before I decided to upgrade to this. Much easier than the heating pad! I also appreciate that it’s big enough to have my starter along with dough rising in another container.
I’ve used it several times and it does just exactly what it is intended to do. Being able to adjust the temperature is key to proofing sourdough.
The size is right and the electric controls are easy to use. The temperatures seem accurate. My average review is based totally on what I was expecting. I was expecting something softer and easier to roll up.

I really wanted to like this item but- it does not lay completely flat, making uneven contact with my jars. It’s very difficult to be certain what temp it is set on, and after choosing the 12 hour option it shuts off randomly. This has ruined several batches of dough that was proofing overnight. I would return it but I’m out of the return window. It’s either defective or a piece of junk, it should have worked longer than 1 month.
This is a nice hearing mat, I use it for starting seedlings more than sourdough.
I love this dough proofing mat! It has made baking so much easier and more consistent. The material is sturdy yet flexible, and the markings on the mat are super helpful for sizing and shaping dough. My bread and rolls rise beautifully every time, and cleanup is a breeze—everything wipes right off. It also stays perfectly in place on the counter, which I really appreciate.
