ALWAYS WANTED TO SOUS VIDE A STEAK; IT CAME OUT SO TENDER AND TASTY. I ALSO USE THE BAGS WHEN I BLANCHE VEGETABLES AND NEED TO VACUUM PACK THEM FOR THE FREEZER ALLOWING ME TO HAVE FRESH PRODUCE ANYTIME....LOVE THEM!!!
Just started using vacuum bags. Tried others, these are great. With the provided slider clip they're easy to seal. The vacuum pump took me a sec to get the hang of it but it's really easy to use.If your just vacuuming 1 or 2 bags it's no big deal. One note: If you're vacuuming bulk and you have any finger, wrist, elbow or shoulder problems I would invest in an electric vacuum pump. Otherwise this product is great!
Bought this for my sous vide and the concept is great. These bags are durable and reusable. It’s MUCH more convenient than pulling out the electric vacuum pump/bag sealer. I calculated using each three times pays for the ziploc bags I was using. The only problem… the air pump. It works great, but it’s a PULL pump and a few weeks after using this regularly the handle pulled off. It’s still usable, but I found buying a replace pump (different style) was necessary.
Great kit, perfect for high-end cuts. I used these for USDA Prime ribeyes last night - worked to perfection! I was worried about the mini-pump - but the seal and evacuation worked like a charm. Next up: Salmon..Highly recommended!
I am buying my third pack of these. These are consistently wonderful and the pump works great. I actually prefer these bags and the hand pump to my electric vacuum sealer because I can control the level of vacuum much more carefully which can make sealing easier especially when using a wet marinade. I'm still using the original pump and give the extras away to my friends who need them. Just be careful with it and it will work perfectly fine. I never reuse these bags so perhaps that is why I have never had a failure. The most critical thing is to make sure that the bags are well sealed.
I am not one to typically complain but this is simply a terrible item. The bags are okay, but the pump is plastic and does not remove any air and falls apart when you pull on it. Do not recommend if this is the quality.
Bags are excellent. Good seal, easy to handle. Multiple sizes is a great convenience. Hand pump, poor manufacturing. After 10 uses or so, grip handle detached from piston. See picture.
