Well buy more!

I absolutely love these things! My family doesn’t eat cold cereal; we stick to oatmeal and cream of wheat in the mornings. If you’ve cooked these, you know how they tend to boil over onto the stove, making a mess. I have one of those types of electric stoves with burners, when things boil over, they dip down onto the stove, and I have to remove them to clean up the mess.I usually get up before everyone else, cook my breakfast, and while doing other tasks, the food boils over. Then, when everyone else gets up, I make their breakfast, and the same thing happens.Mornings are always about multitasking, juggling more than one thing at a time. These save me from cleaning up the stove 3 to 4 times a day, and I can’t express how much I appreciate that! lol They do work, for me they do.

it really works!!

i'm a kitchen gadget freak and somehow, in my Amazon travels, found these. they were inexpensive and described a problem i frequently had when cooking pasta. the infamous boilover, when suddenly the water in the pot goes crazy and bubbles up like a science experiment and covers the stove with pasta goo. there's no stopping it fast enough once it gets started and i hate it. these little rings promised to fix that problem, though truthfully, i was very skeptical. a week later, the true test. made pasta and forgot about lowering the heat. i heard a warning burp from the pot and remembered these things tucked into a kitchen drawer. i grabbed one and placed it over the top of the pot. the water immediately retracted and just continued to cook as though nothing ever happened. i couldn't believe it. Success, saved the pasta, the stove stayed clean and i was happy. i highly recommend them.

Great Product

I finally got around to ordering this after years of having boil-overs dirty the top of my stove. Why did I wait so long! This is great! Just plop it on the top of the pot & that's it, rolling boil with no boil-over. I did have a slight problem when I lifted it to check on the pot, it slides in if the pot is large but it's manageable. I had a little trouble cleaning it, dried potato residue required a little more scrubbing than I expected but well worth it.

Great! Perform as promised and saves me cleanups on my stove. Wish I'd bought years ago.

I don't know why I didn't buy something like this years ago. I cannot tell you how many times my pasta water has overflowed creating a mess on the stove top for me to clean. The thing about pasta is you need it to come to a roiling boil but then it has a tendency to boil over unless I stand there watching it, which I never do, thus my problem. These lids really work and it's easy to lift an edge to stir the pasta. Clean up is really easy on these lids and I tend to use them also as a spoon rest when I'm done using them on the pot and am draining the pasta and adding the sauce. I have also tried these in the microwave but they work best on containers that leave a gap between the food and the lid. In other words, not good for plates but good for bowls. I recommend this for every kitchen and am giving one of these lids to my daughter to use in her dorm apartment at college.

Worked well but....

I used one of these while cooking pasta. It did work in that the pot did not boil over onto my stovetop. The problem is I needed to stir the pasta and when I took it off the pot, it boiled over. As far as a pot boiling over, this did work. I don't know how to remedy the situation so that I can remove it to stir what's cooking without any boiling over.

Great kitchen aid! They truly work well.

These are a GREAT alternative to pan lids that allow bubbling out and running over from steam and boiling. They are nice and heavy so that they stay flat and even sink a bit in the center. The flower on top opens up and the steam comes right out. I have yet to have anything running down the sides of my pans or onto my fire. One thing to watch out for is when picking it up off of the pan. Be sure to have a pot holder, as you would for any lid. The steam tends to escape and could burn you. All in all it is a very useful and cheerful addition to my kitchen utensils. Glad I got them!

Perfect rice in the microwave!

We have been making rice in a glass pyrex bowl for years, but you can only microwave it for short periods many times, because it boils over. With this lid it's perfect. In our small apartment sized microwave we:use 1 cup rice + 1tsp salt + 1-1/4 cup water, then with the lid on microwave it 5 min on full power, remove lid/stir/replace lid, microwave 15 min at 50% power, then let it stand/wait for 5 min, fluff with a fork and it's ready.(Our large microwave has more wattage so we cook the first 5 minutes on 70% power, remove lid/stir/replace lid, microwave 15 min at 30% power, wait 5 min, fluff and it's ready.)Wish we had only known about this sooner! Sooo happy!
