If you own a KitchenAid mixer, you may have noticed that some models manufactured after 2016 no longer come with springs on the beater shaft. The Spring and Washer Kit Fit for Kitchenaid Mixer offers a practical solution to this oversight. Designed as a quick-install replacement accessory, this kit comprises four packs of springs and washers that can significantly enhance your mixing experience.
This kit not only helps in securely locking mixing attachments onto the shaft but also plays a vital role in reducing wear on your mixer, which can extend its overall life. Made from food-grade stainless steel, these parts ensure durability and resist rust, making them a reliable addition to your kitchen tools.

This is an inexpensive upgrade that makes a noticeable difference. It is easy to install, less than 2 minutes and it improves the fitment of the mixer attachments on the mixer attachment shaft. The attachments no longer have up and down slop and the spring keeps the attachments in the proper position. If there are dense clumps at the bottom of the mixing bowl, the mixing attachments would rid up the shaft the 3/16" or so of play and not incorporate the ingredients well. We would have to scrape the bottom of the bowl to bring the clumps up to the top and then start mixing again. Now the attachments stay down and do not rid up and down the shaft, providing a more consistent mix without having to stop the mixer, lift the head, scrape the bowl, lower the head and start mixing again. This has been a great addition to our mixer and I wish we would have know about adding the spring to the attachment shaft years ago.
Excellent quality. As you take your Kitenaid mixer apart, simply keep the parts in order of disassembly, remove the old parts and put the new parts in place as they are laid out and then reverse the process of putting it back together. These parts work better than the new!
I got a lift, 7qt kitchen aid for Christmas, but noticed it doesn't have a spring, and the attachments seems like they'd come off easily. So we bought this, and it does seem to give the attachments a better grip, HOWEVER, my Pastry paddle and double sided silicone paddle really has to be lifed up, in order to attach to the mixture. Hopefully, that won't cause the mixture any damage.
Ease of installation
Cheapest and easiest way to install a spring. You can definitely buy better quality ones, but that requires teardown of kitchenaid. Took 20 seconds to install. Could use a stiffer spring.
