Works greatSpring creates more tension as advertised.Washer is easy to install/ could be a bit thicker but works well enough.Shock absorber works really well. I’d say 90 percent better than just the screw.Just make sure you use the proper screw driver and don’t cross thread. And you won’t strip out the screw like another review I read on this same item.
I ordered this to add a spring to my Kitchenaid mixer. I don't know why the manufacturer doesn't include this piece any more, but after going several years without it, I broke down and ordered this. I only used the spring, so I can't comment on the shock absorber. I dropped the washer and it rolled under the fridge into no man's land. The spring works well on its own.I do find it overpriced ($14 at the time of review), even if I was using the shock absorber.

I use my mixer every week. Normal wear and tear and the mixer was doing fine. After installation i noticed less vibration which is an improvement.
Kitchen-Aid stand mixers for the last several years do not have the spring and washer to push the beater attachment down towards the bowl, so sometimes they bounce and don't really mix all the ingredients as well as they could. The spring and washer in this kit were easy to install and do the trick. The rubber washer is similar to the Mr. Mixer "Ever Dime" and reduces the noise and movement of the head as the mixer runs. It feels like a silicone rubber material and does a fantastic job absorbing shock and bounce. It might be a little thicker than it needs to be because now I have to push the head down to lock it, but that might also be the position of my mixer's latch.
HORRIBLE PRODUCT. The spring is okay, washer is cheap.However the shock absorber doesn’t work! It stripped my screw after 30 minutes of trying to get it to work.Almost a scam selling the shock absorber knowing it doesn’t work.
My wife's mixer was moving all over the place, the head seemed loose, but this bumper completely fixed the issue. It now mixes without any large movements, making the whole operation quieter and more efficient. The spring holds the attachments on much stronger and the whole kit was very easy to install. She recommends that anyone with a tilt head kitchen aid get this upgrade kit.
