I wrote a review earlier and had my products mixed up. This Bowl was very pretty and some napkin holders with it i didn't realize were coming. can you please take my first review down. This bowl is going to make a great gift.
I love all things bamboo, so I was happy to try out this bowl. It looks great and could easily make a nice centerpiece. The bamboo seems to be of good quality and the bowl is well made. It is sturdy and durable, but still lightweight. The outside of the bowl, including the edge, is smooth and even. The black color stands out well and has a bit of a shine to it. There is a slight texture to the inside of the bowl though. I did expect it to be a bit smoother inside, but I don't think it harms the quality of it at all. I am extra careful to dry it quicker because of this though. It was a bit dusty upon arrival, so make sure to give it a good wash before using. It comes with a placemat and 4 napkin holders as well, which is a nice bonus. Overall, I think this is a very nice bamboo bowl and it would make a great gift.
As an "obsessive-compulsive Tree Higger," I love this BAMBOO bowl! And what*s not to love? Nothing at all. Because...It's made from fast growing planet-loving BAMBOO, which is a powerful cleaner of extremely toxic gasses in the atmosphere, as well as in our homes. Yay, Asia on that count! Just don't plant bamboo in your yard because it will take over everything!Bamboo also has a natural ability to preserve and sterilize things stored in it, which makes bamboo a great choice for everything from knife blocks and cutting boards to fruit bowls for your kitchen counter!Just one caution. The free "charger" is NOT a decorative solid bamboo service plate to use with porcelain dinnerware. It *IS* an attractive woven bamboo place mat! This is a beautifully made "spun" bamboo bowl. "Spun" simply means GIANT bamboo wood is spun on a lathe the same way carpenters "spin" round posts from square ones. It all boils down to semantics! This comes in a choice of colors and the best way to use it will challenge your imagination! To get a bit esoteric, it makes a lovely dish for a traditional Japanese ikabana flower arrangement, or works equally well as a gorgeous buffet salad bowl! Great "exercise" for your imagination.Every Tree Higger should own one! But its also great for non-Tree Huggers too! I lovingly give it*****FIVE POLLUTION-FREE STARS*****
$26 later and I left it in some water to soak and the entire bowl fell apart
This looks great on my wood tables and counter tops. And it also serves its purpose which in my case is either holding fruit, or as a bread serving bowel when I cook up some lasagna. Looks great and is light weight, yet sturdy.I have the blue bowel, and it is a mid range tone that doesn't go as passive as light blue, and not as deep as navy blues, but some gray blue in the middle. I like the look, and it is out as a permanent fixture in the kitchen at all times, so that is important. The gift of the placemat (which I sometimes use under it), and the napkin holders is a plus. I had to find a place to keep those as they are delicate and pretty, and I worry I'll squish them otherwise. One elegant dinner in the future I'll bring those extras out and give them a try!
