So much better than expected !
Pans feel solid and well constructed with rounded corners and edges and 1.2” raised tight fitting lids that are see-through for quick food identification. Pans are a good size (9.75” x 12.33”) and depth (2”) for baking or roasting. Each uncovered, empty pan weighs 1.16 pounds. Pans are made of SUS304 (stainless steel 304) - a mark for stainless steel in the Japanese Industrial Standard. SUS304 is an 18/8 austenitic stainless steel composed of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. This is a non-magnetic food grade stainless steel that is highly resistant to rust and corrosion and is strong and durable at high temperatures. Very tough pans that do not have harmful coatings - no PFAS forever chemicals. Acidic foods like tomatoes or citrus may assume a metallic taste due to metal leeching of nickel or chromium, also a consideration for those with nickel sensitivity. Pans are generally nonstick but certain foods including eggs, fish, pancakes and very salty foods can cause sticking and discoloration issues. Pans clean easily with hand washing but are also dishwasher safe. Snap-on locking airtight cover protects pan contents and seals in odors and moisture, convenient to store in refrigerator or freezer. I really like the raised height of the lid, perfect for storing or transporting iced cupcakes. Pans and lids nest together for compact storage. Happy to switch from coated aluminum to this healthier, safer stainless steel bakeware that is non-toxic and free of chemical coatings. Blingo premium pans with lids are well-made, heavy duty and I expect them to last for a very long time. Highly recommend these quality, sturdy pans - excellent value!
I was just saying the other day that I missed the cake pans my great-aunt always used that were metal with a lid that sits up high, so it doesn't squish the frosting, and then I saw these and had to grab them. These have a nice snug lid that sits up high to allow for clearance of a thick frosting. I like to make light refrigerated cakes with Cool Whip icing, and these are perfect for that. When they arrived I was a bit surprised at the size. I thought they would be a little bit more of a standard rectangle casserole pan-shaped, but they are a little shorter than that. I'm not mad at it.I baked a boxed cake mix in one pan and it went very well, baking for 27 minutes in the Eastern Midwest U.S. The cake rose nicely and didn't stick much, with plenty of space for my topping. I'll be honest, I've never seen pans like these in stainless steel. The ones my aunt used were aluminum and much lighter. I understand that aluminum heats more evenly, but stainless steel is more durable, so they each have their place. If you're a non-serious home baker like me, I think these sturdy lidded pans will be a great addition to your kitchen for making cakes, or even savory items like lasagna and casseroles.
The first thing to note about these pans is that they are not a standard size, which would be 9 x 13; however, the volume they hold is slightly more than a standard pan. They have a good weight to them and I particularly like the lid which makes it easy to pop your cake in the refrigerator or carry to a picnic. The finish on the pan is very shiny, almost like a mirror. Unfortunately, the pan scratches very easily if you use any metal utensils. I had planned to use this pan for lasagna, which does require a knife for cutting. A splash of au jus from a roast got on the pan and it is impossible to remove. I have tried everything. I even had my husband try to remove the stain. While others are saying that the pan works great for baking that may be due to the fact that most cakes require the pan to be greased. From my experience, this pan isn't going to do well for any savory uses, such as a casserole or baked pasta. It's not a complete loss since the covered pan is perfect for keeping baked goods such as cupcakes or cookies fresh. Overall, at the current price of $19.99 for two pans, it's a good value.
I love these baking pans with lids. My cake baked evenly with no browning or over-cooking on the bottom and was easy to remove from the pan. The pan stayed completely flat in the oven with no warping, and the smooth stainless steel still looks great after washing. It’s softer stainless, so I treat it like nonstick cookware—no scratches from normal use or a scrub sponge, though a metal spatula or knife does leave a mark. The pan is deep enough for a standard cake mix with room for frosting, and the raised lid doesn’t touch the top. The lid is handy—no foil or cling wrap needed—and keeps the cake moist and fresh. The size works well for many baked dishes, and both pan and lid are dishwasher-safe, coming out like new. Considering the quality, they’re an incredible value.
These are perfect for so many different uses, and I’m really happy with them. One of the first things I noticed is that they are deeper than the typical ones you usually find, which makes them much more versatile. I can bake larger portions without worrying about spills or overflow, and that extra depth really comes in handy for casseroles, desserts, and meal prep.I also really like the lids that come with them. Being able to put a lid on after baking makes storage and transporting food so much easier. Whether I’m saving leftovers in the fridge or bringing something to share, the lids fit well and are very convenient.Another big plus for me is that these don’t have a coating on them. I personally prefer these over coated versions because I don’t have to worry about scratching or peeling, and they feel more durable overall. They seem sturdy, well-made, and reliable for regular use.Overall, these have quickly become a favorite in my kitchen. They’re practical, well-designed, and much better than standard options. I’ll definitely be using them often.
