Great setup for first time canner that will last a lifetime!
Needed a taller water pot that wouldn't rust. This works great and no rust. It's stainless steel and the rack that fits inside is also stainless steel has fewer welds. While it is smaller and holds only 5 quart jars or 7 pint jars, I never have to worry about rust or replacing it like I did with granite wear with bath canners. It costs 2 to 3 times as much as granitewear but should last a lifetime. AND all the canning utensils and gloves that came with it are first rate and made to last. This is a great deal for first time canner and comes with everything you need to start canning right away except for the jars. Worth the cost.

It’s About All You Really Need
My wife used to can like crazy but that’s been years ago. We sold or gave away all her old canning stuff as part of downsizing at some time or another. But this year our little 4X4 garden box yielded an extraordinary crop of Romano tomatoes and she got the itch again so we bought this outfit. It was perfect for our light duty needs. The pot and rack, while kind of flimsy and not terribly well made, worked well enough this time and will probably be sufficient for us for the next few years. All the other stuff is about the same. It’s a good, cheap way to try canning to see if it’s for you, or, like us, to reprise an old tradition from yesteryear.

A perfect set for first time canning!
This pot is just a perfect addition to my kitchen! I already have been baking my own bread for several years, and now? My own jelly to go with it. The only thing was, I didn't have the proper tools for canning. Being able to get this entire set all in one, which saved me so much time, as I didn't have to hunt around for the different pieces that make the canning job so much easier. My only comment on this pot is that you must not let the canning rack sit in the water for too long after you are done, as it's not rust-free! I was able to remove the rust from the pan, but I don't recommend leaving it to rust in the first place!
