Scorpion strainer does work
Purchased the scorpion/dia de los muertos strainer. Design is eye catching, and the functionality is great. Does not fit my mixing glass, however -- fits well on the shaking tin half, though, so no great fault. Just be aware if you're used to the smaller diameter strainers. As I was used to the smaller strainer by habit, it took me a couple tries to understand the fit and function to be efficient with it, but thanks to the tight coil, it strains significantly better than my original (and looks a lot better too) -- I rarely bother with double straining now as a result. Usually only needed if I am shaking with botanicals (i.e. mint or basil), which will shred a bit and you'll want that extra layer of straining to get the fine bits. But for most cocktails this one works wonders on its own. Highly recommend!

I need to collect them all!
I got the skull strainer because I thought it would be a fun novelty to have on the bar. The skull doesn't have the long handle which I felt would be in the way. But to my surprise, it works and it works really well! The spring is very good quality and its right enough to strain well. It's easy to clean and feels very well made. The lack of true handle is a plus for this specific design.This would be a fantastic gift for a home bar tender. I love it!
