This is just the size that I needed! It holds a huge amount of foodstuffs and drains well. I like that the drain holes aren't too big, so small pastas (like angel hair) or veggies don't fall through. Looks sturdy and I expect it to last for a long time, unlike the tacky plastic colander that this replaced!
This is the only colander I've found that has 'legs' instead of a 'stand'.It is ideal for draining in the sink as the water does not rise to meet the colander.With 'stand' (or circular base) colanders, often time when draining water, the water rises in the sink and meets the food. The base, when over the drain, slows down the draining process, causing the water to rise.I purchased this for my Mom who had the challenges of pausing, when draining stuff, to allow the water to subside. She loves it!
