Very clever tool, works great, keeps kernels whole
What a great kitchen implement! I didn't know I needed one until I saw this and had to give it a go. If you've ever tried to remove kernels from corn cobs, you know what a pain it is - a knife ends up slicing through half the kernels so instead of whole kernels you end up with broken little bits as well as pieces of the cob mixed in. This clever little tool curves around the cob and slides right down it, removing ONLY the kernels, and keeping them whole. Plus it's way safer than using a sharp knife. I make a number of recipes that use fresh corn (which is SO much better than canned), but the hardest, and most time-consuming, part has always been removing the kernels from the cob. Not anymore! Note that this comes with two of them - even better! When I have a number of cobs to shell, I can rope my husband into the job too.This is a high quality tool, heavy stainless steel, easy to clean, dishwasher safe. I expect I'll be shelling cobs for years to come with these things.
