Solid, well made and beautiful cutting board
I’m really happy with this cutting board. I was expecting it to be nice, but I was still surprised at just how nice it is. It has a really premium feel to it, especially the weight and the really nice handle. In general, it just looks and feels well made.Having the two sides is a really nice feature. I’m glad to have a sanitary surface to handle meat and fish now, and the design looks pretty plus will camouflage scratches. The other side being black instead of white is really exciting to me because now it won’t look awful in a few weeks with stains like every other cutting board I’ve ever had.Since it’s so nice, I triple checked that it really is dishwasher safe before throwing it in, and I’m happy to report that it hasn’t suffered at all from the dishwasher over multiple washes, even with a strong drying cycle. Also, the edges aren’t silicone or another super grippy type of substance, which means it’s more durable (I’ve had those crumble off of other boards). And because of the weight and the edges still having some friction to them, the cutting board doesn’t move at all during use but I can still slide it over to another side of the counter easily once I want to. I really appreciate that.Overall, this cutting board exceeded my expectations and it’s a great addition to my kitchen. I’m already looking forward to gifting one to a family member.

A heavy cutting board that won't move on you
The first thing I noticed about the Stainless Steel Double Sided Chopping Board with Wheat Straw is how striking the metal side looks when it is face up on my countertop. The second thing I noticed was how heavy it was which is good because the weight combined with the rubber edges means it stays put where you place it down. The weight may be something to consider if you store it in a higher up cabinet and have to bring it down regularly (for example; my elderly parents I'd probably want to ensure they weren't taking this out of a cabinet above their head). The metal surface side is advertised for meats so I cut some chicken breasts on it and it stood up to the work. I didn't notice any scratches or cuts on the metal but could see some nicks on the raised lines that make up the pattern. It isn't clear to me yet if it is causing damages to my knives or not. The edges seemed fine after cutting four chicken breasts up on it.The wheat straw side feels like plastic and seems durable. I chopped onions, celery, and carrots up and there wasn't any obvious wear to that side. There were a few cut lines visible which seemed reasonable and no worse than other boards I've used.I popped it into the dishwasher twice now for it to get cleaned it comes out clean each time and is no worse for the endeavor. They do include a cleaning pad and microsfiber cloth but for me its just easier to pop it into the dishwasher. Still nice to get some extras in the box that I can use in other parts of the kitchen. The real test will be longevity; both in how it wears against my knives but also how the surfaces hold up. I'll update this review in the future with any changes but for now this is a great cutting board. I really like it's weight and how it stays in place!

My new favorite cutting board! Meat and veggies - same board, different sides
Ooooh this cutting board!! Ok so I’m a little obsessed with cutting boards, I have more than anyone will ever need and once a year I clear out and donate the ones that don’t make the cut. I’m never getting rid of this one.The veggie side - typical cutting board stuff for the most part, I can’t tell what it’s made of, the description says wheat, google says plastic. It has a nice big surface with a rim to catch the water that inevitably falls from fresh veggies (this usually ends up all over the counter). There is a pointy studded square in the corner for mincing garlic or ginger, it’s pretty dang convenient. The meat side is stainless steel and has a sort of beehive pattern to it. It feels extremely weird to cut on metal I have to say but I’ll get used to it I’m sure. I’m not sure what benefit stainless steel has over plastic (perhaps microscopic bits of plastic are ending up in our food?) but it’s definitely gaining popularity and will most likely increase in price soon so I’d suggest getting yours now. This one is beautifully made, it’s kinda heavy but not “hard to wash” heavy, and it has a stainless handle making it much easier to pull out of the cabinet or manage. This was packaged with great care - foam and plastic clips over the handle, etc…and I appreciate that. Included is a full size microfiber cleaning cloth and a sponge with one side consisting of some sort of scrubby stuff. This is an excellent value and a beautifully made cutting board. The makers truly took into consideration real life cooking needs and they’ve incorporated all of them in one board. Fantastic.
