Slightly wider than the standard enameled beater that comes with the kitchen aid but you can adjust the stand mixer to make sure it doesn't hit unnecessarily. So far on the first run of a thick cookie dough-like cake mix it held up just fine!
Arrive quickly and was the perfect fit for our mixer. Seems like a quality implement.

I ordered this stainless steel KitchenAid paddle replacement because the paddle that came with my KitchenAid several years ago was covered in enamel and it has been chipping lately. I'm always nervous the white enamel is going to end up in the food and hurt somebody's teeth or get swallowed and be harmful in some way, so I was happy to see this replacement paddle was compatible with my KitchenAid model.Compatibility Confusion Cleared UpI didn't think it was going to be compatible at first because my model number looked different from what was listed on the product page, but I did a deeper dive into it and learned that it was indeed compatible. My KitchenAid shows my model as RRK90WW and apparently this aligns with the KSM90 that was listed on the product page. I sure was happy about that - I've been waiting a long time to find and order a replacement. This fits tilt head mixers (not bowl-lift models), so make sure you check your model before ordering.Perfect Fit and PerformanceMy next hurdle was to receive it and see if it would actually work with my mixer. I've known in the back of my mind that there is supposedly a way to adjust the head if the paddle was slightly off, so it was definitely worth taking the chance. When I received it, I immediately compared it to the previous paddle and it looked to be exactly the same height with just a slight variation on the pattern of the interior of the attachment, which I don't think has much bearing on whether it would work or not.I held my breath and put it on and yes, it fit perfectly! I also held my breath while I put the tilt head down and it didn't hit prematurely, so that was good news. Then once again I held my breath and turned it on, and it spun just as expected. We happened to be making a cake and icing, so I can happily say that both recipes were mixed thoroughly and well. It performed very well with both the cake batter and the thicker icing consistency.Quality and ConstructionMy impression of the new attachment is that it's a bit heavier than the old one. The stainless is 304 stainless, which is pretty much the standard for kitchen appliance parts, so that's good. The outside of it looks nicely polished and shiny as promised in the product description, and it's dishwasher safe which is convenient.Since this is a heftier metal than my old attachment, I imagine it might handle heavy or thick doughs like cookie dough or bread dough even better than my previous paddle. The product description mentions it's designed for these kinds of applications.One BummerHowever, I was dismayed to notice that the inside parts were not polished and were indeed rather rough. I'm only bothered by this because I'm not sure whether that means stainless could break off. I really am clueless about this, so I'll be keeping an eye on whether it's getting smoother over time because if it is, that could mean metal is getting into my food. I'd suggest other buyers inspect this when they receive it as well.For the reason of the rough interior spots, I had to remove a star. Otherwise, it was a great looking and fitting product that solved my chipping enamel problem perfectly.
