Small, check measurements
Shopping on line can be a challenge, and trusting the write up and images is a major part of every purchase. This cookie cutter appeared bigger than it is in some of the photos. It’s on me, I didn’t have a measuring device at my fingertips so I relied on some of the images. It appeared bigger than it is.I have had elaborate cookie cutter that are larger and they take a lot of work to cut shapes out of shapes. I don’t know if I want to spend the time it will take to do the same thing on a smaller scale. For my big cutters I paid marginally more than this small one, so I’d say it was overpriced. It does look well made. Each tiny heart seems to be securely fastened to the main bigger heart. The cutting edge feels sharp and all the pieces are evenly set to the same cutting level allowing for consistent cuts. The top has a folded edge to protect skin from getting cut. It is cute, and I’ll probably give it as a gift since I know several bakers who don’t mind fussy.

Well Made, Lovely Design! But Small Size & Insets Make This Very Hard to Use. Not for Kids!
This adorable Kito Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutter produces a frilled heart with one large heart cutout in the center surrounded by six smaller heart cutouts. Amazingly elaborate for a cookie cutter! At 3 inches wide and 2 inches high, it is also quite small. These will be normal-sized cookies, not all-day cookies. Oh so cute! And what a great way to say “I love you!”I have seen elaborate cookie cutters with internal cutouts like this in expensive kitchenware stores in Germany. Never before have I seen one for sale in the United States. This one, of course, is made in China.Because of all of the cute insets, this cookie cutter is extremely difficult to use. It will cut into the dough easily enough, but good luck getting the raw cookie out in one piece! I chilled the dough thoroughly and dipped the cutter in flour, as the experts advise. I used a skewer to poke out the dough in the little hearts in the center. So far, so good. I tried to use the skewer to poke around the edges to loosen the cookie dough. (The spaces are far too small to use your fingers.) That helped, but the pieces still came out broken. This is a very lacy pattern with small bridges of dough that easily tear. I never was able to get a whole cookie out of this cutter and finally decided that my sanity was more important. This cookie cutter is definitely not suitable for children! If an unusually patient, experienced adult can get that frustrated, how would a kid feel? If you want to bake cookies with children, stick to the traditional cookie cutters without insets.Heart-shaped cookie cutters usually come in sets with several different sizes of the same shape. These can be had for $3 to $14 per set. I found only one other heart-shaped cookie cutter with interior cutouts. That one is 7.5 inches wide (2 ½ times as large) and costs $10. So this heart-shaped cookie cutter with cutouts is rather expensive. It is often harder to make smaller items of this sort, so maybe you’re paying a premium for the small size. But given how unique and well-made it is, it is probably worth it.It is unusual to find a cookie cutter with insets in this country, and this one has an especially cute design. The pros must know how to use it properly. It probably would be easier to use with tougher materials that hold together better than cookie dough. (Clay?) But it takes the advanced course to use this cookie cutter to make cookies. It is definitely a no-go for kids! The design is absolutely lovely, but a distant dream for most of us ordinary mortals.

Heart cookie cutter
This is not authentic stainless steel. Feels like hard aluminum tin. Even though this product is quite rigid, I still saw some dings on it. Stainless steel should be smooth and solid with no scuff marks if new and never used. The product has beautiful detail and the size for me is perfect compared to some reviewers saying the size was too small. I haven't put this in use yet..but I did wash it prior to being used, and it was somewhat difficult to clean with the tiny hearts surrounding the small centered heart. So I can only imagine how difficult it would be to clean if dough gets stuck inside..punch it out with a toothpick..but will there be some dough residue still left inside. Do we need a q-tip swab to clean? Anyways, at the time of this review, the price is $12.10. The design is cute and sturdy..however it's rather expensive just for one cutter. I could see if this came in a set of 3 or 4 to justify the pricing. The material itself is not authentic..so this isn't worth the current cost. I would pay even more for better quality, user-friendlier, and easier to clean.

Well-Made, But Not What I Expected
This stainless steel heart cookie cutter is well made and very sturdy. The metal feels solid and holds its shape well while cutting dough, which I really appreciate. That said, I was a little disappointed because based on the pictures, I thought I would be able to make a solid heart-shaped cookie as well. I didn’t realize that the cutter always includes the mini heart cut-outs in the center, so you can’t make a plain heart cookie with this tool.Overall, great quality and fun for decorative Valentine’s Day cookies—just be aware of the cut-out design if you’re looking for a simple heart shape. ❤️

Beautiful cookies with this cutter
I love this cookie cutter, though it was tricky at first. I used a shortbread cookie dough (no water, baking soda or baking powder) to keep the cookies from puffing up and losing their detail. The recipe called for a couple of hours in the fridge. When it was ready, my first 2 batches of cookies were really difficult. After pressing the cutter into the dough, I used a fondu fork to punch out the mini heart cutouts. Then the large part of the cookie wouldn’t come out of the cutter unless I poked at it with the fondu fork. I ended up with little prick marks on the edge of the heart – which turned out to look like a decoration so that’s okay! But about half of the cookies would break as I pushed them out. Finally about the 3rd batch in, the dough had warmed up a little and they started coming out much easier. So if you use a similar dough, you might need to let it warm/soften up a bit. And don’t forget to flour the cutter, at least every other cookie. By the end I was really enjoying using the cutter! And I didn’t think of it until I put the last batch in, but this cutter would make spectacular Linzer cookies! I will try them next week. I highly recommend this cutter.
