I had no idea searching for a funnel would take so long...and the ones I ordered (and returned) were cheap...until I found this one. This is super high quality, well made, and will last forever. It took me forever to find just one funnel (who needs 3?) and also one this size so you can pour liquids fast because it holds a large amount. Perfect for many uses.
So far, we have always used plastic funnels in the everyday kitchen operations but, with the growing allergic problems developed by my wife with age we are trying to switch toward safer options.In the case at hand, we opted for this small stainless steel funnel, mainly for the following reasons:1) its composition. It is made in stainless steel that works and reacts (my personal opinion) much better than plastic when dealing with hot liquids like tea2) it has a very fine strainer that locks on the bottom, via a simple spring system, avoiding undesiderable particles to deposit in the destination container. This is particularly appreciated by my wife, since she rips the tea bags (loosening the leaves) because heat releases a number of unwanted chemicals present in the afore-mentioned silk or whatever else bags3) it is very easy to clean. Just extract the strainer and wash, removing attached particles4)it is very pretty and looks nice on the little shelf that I have built for our common, easy to reach, everyday little kitchen gadgetsOther than that it arrived according to schedule; it is moderatly priced and, more importantly, my wife is so happy with it that I bought her bigger and different strainers (the kind with a larger "mouth") that she uses to fill jars but .... this is another story
This is an amazing funnel that every kitchen needs. As a most wonderful use of it the removable stainless-steel sieve collects the tiniest pieces. I could not, would not want to be without it and never did I realize I needed a funnel with a sieve that easily washes and conveniently hangs at hands reach.
What can I really say. It works as advertised as a funnel. Makes pouring old oil back into a container very easy without a mess.
Just holding it in my hand I could tell the quality of the machining was right on! I expect to get much use out of this over the years. Untill now I've only had plastic tools like this... found it quite by accident and didn't think twice about purchasing! It's a good size for most kitchen needs. I'll need to hide this from the hubbs cuz he'll haul it off to the garage! This is a handy, versatile tool that I feel will last a long time.
Needed to drain peanut oil after a chicken wing fry back into the container for re-use. Ordered and used this funnel and, with its amazing strainer addition, the job was quick and easy. Just what I needed. I never thought I’d be so happy over a funnel. Two thumbs up.
ProsStainless steel, well manufactured and includes a cleaning brush and filterthere is a slight groove in the tube to allow air to escape, but its not deep enough for some bottles mouths and prevents air from equalizing as it fillscan't tell if its true SS 304 alloy but using a magnet its weaker pull than pure iron suggest it is 304, and the manufacture there are no traces of rustit has been washed almost daily in a dishwasher for a month and it remains like newI use it to transfer coffee, soda, water, cooking oil and vinegarConsthere was a film of grease on the funnel which did not clean out thoroughly with multiple soap or dishwashing. I finally cleaned it completely using 70% isopropanol until it left no residue on a paper towel
