WELL worth it -- a LOT for the money!
I'm so glad to bit the bullet and made this purchase rather than trying to buy individual items I needed pi. I ended up with a few extras, but I spent less money, less time and effort, and have more! And I really like MOST of the pieces. I also appreciate that they stuck with gray and stainless instead of a cute color that wouldn't match anything else in my kitchen. I'm sure they are not the most durable ones out there. Nor are they junk. Some pieces I have been using regularly for months now and they have been holding up well even being run through the dishwasher.Here are my nit-picks:I don't care too much for the measuring spoons. They are so deep that they are hard to wash by hand, and they tend to nest automatically when I don't want them too, either when I lay them out to dry, or when I put them in the basket of the dishwasher - meaning they don't get thoroughly washed. Plus they are hard to separate when I want to use them.The measuring cups - I'd actually forgotten about these. They're hard to handle and there's only a few sizes. The larger ones should have smaller measurements marked but they don't. I had just put these away and I use glass measuring cups.I wish the garlic press had a lock on the handle or some other way to keep a piece from falling out in my drawer. I like that that part can come out for better cleaning, just not that it falls out in the drawer.Maybe it's me but I have a hard time using the cheese knife. I prefer and still use my cheese knife from Pampered Chef (that they no longer sell, boo!)I wish there was at least one more spatula in this set as I use those constantly.The can opener is fine but not the best I've ever used. I doesn't work when placed on top of the can in such a way as to not make such a sharp edge on the can. The gear occasionally slips.Definitely needed a set of tongs, and an additional set of scissor tongs would have been a big bonus!Disclosure: I haven't actually used the ice cream scoop or garlic press. Other reviewers have had issues with those two pieces.Summary: Sure, you could pay more and get higher quality. But I challenge you to find a better overall value for the money. These are good-looking and with only a few complaints have been serving me well for months. No signs so far of anything bending, breaking, or getting scratched or coming apart. I highly recommend them!
