go with this over the plastic ones
I’ve had regular use of the Stainless Steel Pancake Batter Dispenser (40 oz) with Squeeze Handle over the past several weeks and can share a practical, unbiased assessment of its performance in everyday kitchen tasks. This tool is designed to make portioning and dispensing batter easier and more consistent for pancakes, waffles, cupcakes, and other baked goods. One of the first things you notice is the capacity and build quality. The 40 oz reservoir is generous enough to hold a large batch of batter, reducing the need to refill frequently when preparing breakfast for a family or a group. The stainless steel body feels solid and more durable compared with thinner plastic alternatives. The weight and material suggest it will withstand repeated use over time without warping or staining, which can be a concern with lighter dispensers. The squeeze handle mechanism is central to the dispenser’s usability. With a simple squeeze, batter is released through the bottom nozzle in a controlled stream. In practical use, this makes it easier to create evenly sized pancakes or precise amounts of batter for muffins and cupcakes. The handle responsiveness is generally good, and with a little practice you can dispense batter with minimal drips or splatter. For thicker batters, you may need a firmer squeeze, but it still works more reliably than attempts to spoon batter by hand. One of the advertised benefits is that the dispenser is leak-free when operated properly. In my testing, as long as the handle was fully released and the nozzle point clean, batter did not continue to leak or drip after dispensing. However, if the nozzle or sealing area is not cleaned between uses, small drips can occur as batter dries around the edges — an issue common to many batter dispensers and not unique to this model. The stainless steel finish also makes cleanup relatively straightforward. The interior and exterior wipe down well, and because the handle and mechanism are simple, there are fewer crevices for batter to get stuck compared with more complicated designs. That said, if batter starts to dry inside the nozzle, it can require a bit more attention during cleaning to ensure full removal. The dispenser works well for a range of batters, though very thin batters will flow more quickly and may require a light touch to avoid over pouring. For thicker batters — such as those for traditional pancakes or muffins — the flow is manageable and consistent once you get used to the squeeze pressure needed.Overall, this stainless steel batter dispenser is a functional kitchen tool for anyone who regularly makes pancakes, waffles, cupcakes, or similar baked goods. It simplifies portion control, reduces mess compared with spooning batter, and feels robust enough for regular use. While cleaning the nozzle thoroughly after each use is important to maintain leak-free performance, the dispenser’s efficiency and build quality make it a practical addition to everyday cooking routines.

Must have for less mess baking!
I've already used this stainless steel batter dispenser twice in the past 2 days to meal prep pancakes and will be using again later today when I make my apple bran muffins. It only took about a minute to screw the handle on and connect the batter stop and then it's ready to go! It comes with several sized nozzle attachments. I started with a smaller sized one for mini chocolate chip pancakes, but found the chips liked to clump at both the batter stop and in the nozzle as they weigh more than the batter, obviously. So the second time I made pancakes, I didn't add the chips to the batter, but sprinkled in the pan. On the second round of pancakes, I did use a little larger nozzle, as I also used a different pan as it was easy to get a quick feel for the batter flow. Depending on how thin your batter is, the batter stop works better than expected and without chips to interfere, I only had about 1 tablespoon of excess drip from just over half a box of prepared pancake mix, so very impressive. It comes with a stainless steel stand, which I found fit perfectly in one of my glass storage bowls to collect any drips. It held the dispenser without any issues and everything easily cleaned up with soap and water. The nozzles tips are a little difficult to get on and off, but I doing just pushing down on the edge with the backside of a butter knife releases it, but this ensures they're not going to come off while using them. The only thing I wish it had was like a silicone lid to keep stuff out of it, both while using and while storing, but some press n seal works just fine.I'm not a messy baker, but by simply adding this dispenser into my baking arsenal, I only had 1 small drop off batter to clean off my counter after 2 uses, so to say I'm impressed is really an understatement, so imagine how useful this would be for young kids, seniors, disabled, or anyone who's just messy in the kitchen! If you're needing an affordable heartfelt and unique gift idea, pick up a nice large kitchen basket or large mixing bowl and place one of these batter dispensers, a box of pancake mix, a rolled up silicone baking mat (to place cooked pancakes on), a silicone spatula and flipper, a bag of mini chocolate chips, and a small bottle of syrup!

Makes Pancake Mornings So Much Less Messy
One of my least favorite things about making pancakes is how messy it usually is. Ladles drip, measuring cups drip, and even when you’re careful, batter seems to end up everywhere. Muffins can be just as annoying (a cookie scoop helps, but it’s still not perfect).I was genuinely excited to try this batter dispenser in hopes of cutting down on the mess, and it absolutely delivered. My kids were thrilled to help, too. It arrived midweek, and after washing everything, we put it to use on Friday morning pancake duty. Even with an enthusiastic toddler “assistant,” the process stayed surprisingly clean. It worked really well. My batter was on the thicker side, so it flowed a bit slowly, and next time I’ll add a splash more milk to improve the pour. It comes with four nozzle sizes, but even without a nozzle it still worked fine, just a little slower with thicker batter. The real win was how mess-free the whole experience was. We barely lost a drop of batter. The holder is especially useful—it lets you set the dispenser down between pancakes without drips and honestly feels like having an extra set of hands. I was also able to scrape my mixing bowl clean straight into the dispenser, which I appreciated. It made perfectly consistent silver-dollar pancakes, which my kids loved. I usually end up with large, irregular pancakes, so this was a big improvement. Even with a double batch, I only had to refill it twice.I’m not 100% sure yet how it will do with cupcakes or muffins, but I’m very excited to try it for crepes next. Overall, I’m happy to adjust my recipes slightly to make this work, because it removed a big barrier to making pancakes in our house—and that alone makes it worth it.
