Nice Looking, Light Weight and Functional - They keep Food Hot and the Bottoms Cool
These CAMBUY 7-1/2" Stainless Steel Plates are a little unusual looking for landlubbers. They have a raised edge which is often found on plates for shipboard use. That's, of course, because the ship is moving, and you want things on the plate to stay on the plate. This lip is also functional for home and camping use, as it keeps foods which have more liquid consistency from spilling easily. These are double walled. I'm not sure if they are vacuum insulated, or not. That would be a nice touch. But, in any case, they do provide quite a bit if insulation. They help keep hot food hot and also prevent it from burning you if you are holding the plate. This would be particularly useful if you are camping, especially in cooler weather, and place your plate on an outdoor picnic table which would be cold itself.I found another use for the design and double walled nature of the plates. If you cook food and put it on the plate, unless it is piled high you can invert one plate on another and it serves as an insulated lid. I made some French Toast and had just put it on the plate when I got a phone call. I did this. When I returned ten minutes later the food was still steaming hot.These are not large plates. They are more sandwich sized, at 7-1/2". I see the seller does offer some larger more conventional 10" plates, also in stainless steel. But those do not appear to be double walled. Still, you could make a matching set.I like these. I will likely use them mostly camping or at my cabin, where I am less likely to need larger plates and will get more use out of the features. These deserve five stars.

Smaller than expected but awesome plates!
So they were smaller in diameter than I expected. About halfway between a regular dinner plate and a saucer...So a little back story...My husband hates glass plates because I have no feeling in my right hand due to an accident in the kitchen, and so because I can't really feel the glass I tend to break the plates. I had to go to the ER last Christmas (2023) for stitches due to an broken plate while I was loading the dishwasher.BUT I hate plastic plates. I think they are disgusting and a breeding ground for bacteria. I never feel like they are clean, no matter how many times they've gone through the dishwasher.However, these plates are the perfect compromise. They are sturdy, nice looking, and clearly don't break like glass, but they also don't hold the bacteria like plastic. I didn't even know these existed! I will definitely, will be getting a set that is wider in diameter.One downside, is that they aren't going in the microwave.
