Terrific for countless kitchen tasks
I've now used these spatulas for over six months, for more tasks than I had initially imagined, and I remain impressed both with their quality and utility. I like them so much I am compelled to share a review.I have worked in commercial kitchens and am very particular about the tools in my home kitchen. Quality is extremely important, as is durability and ease of clean-up. These spatulas have earned their permanent place in my kitchen.They are very well-made and the design is well thought out, from the metal core with thick silicone to their shape. The metal gives them resilience and firmness and the silicone is terrific for all sorts of cooking surfaces - glass, cast iron, steel. I don't need to worry about the silicone damaging surfaces, nor do I need to worry about the silicone being damaged by heat. I've used the spatulas in situations where high heat would comprise many utensils, including in a wok and while making caramel and hard candy. The handles always remain comfortable, never hot nor slippery.The shapes and sizes are ideal, as well. The smaller one is perfect for those pesky small tins, such as tomato paste. (It's also great if you have the pleasure of a child assistant!) Having both a square and a rounded end makes them versatile for any shaped vessel. The silicone is strong and flexible enough to get the last bit of thick organic peanut butter out of the jar!It's important to note that these are a single piece - there is no separate head attached to a shaft. This makes cleanup a breeze and is much more hygienic . As a result, I never hesitate to use them in situations like canning where sterility is especially important.Uses: mixing (even heavy doughs), scraping (tins, bowls, food processor, jars, etc.) , sateéing, stir-fryingIf you do a lot of cooking or canning, you might even consider getting a second set so there is always a clean one at hand.These will be the last spatulas you'll ever need to buy. You'll likely throw out any others you may already have once you experience how great these are.
