Steak Knives take a beating way more than other knives.

Why I bought these? Out of a block of good German made classic knives, the non-serrated steak knives are the only ones where the knife edge routinely cuts into a china plate and eventually ruins the edge where a sharpening steel can no longer renew the edge. But a set of 8 German steak knives to match my 8 or nine year old knife set is $ 875 on Amazon. That is just silly. These are 8 knives of very good quality for less than $50. Given that I am 80 years old, I will be dead before a sharpening steel no longer puts an edge back. Except that they are a little bigger and heavier, they are an exact copy of my Wustoph Classic ones.

Amazing quality for the money...

I have a fairly expensive set of knives and I hate the steak knives because they are serrated at the tip and tear up whatever you're trying to cut rather than cut it, so I started my search for non-serrated steak knives that didn't break the bank. It was my lucky day to find this set of 8 steak knives that are amazing quality at an even more amazing price! The knives are high quality and very sharp, and they have a little heft to them so you know you have it your hand. I did not plan to use the knife block because I have minimized things sitting on my kitchen counters, however I could not resist using it. The dark walnut version is beautiful, and the footprint is very small as the knives are fully upright when placed in it. Sleek and beautiful on the counter, and very well made at an excellent price...I could not ask for more! Thanks to others who write meaningful and helpful reviews, they are so valuable. Now, on to look for other products from this company...
