Stainless Steel strainer/steamer is a good option for people who don't want to use plastic
I've been working on getting rid of most plastics in the kitchen to avoid PCB & microplastic exposure. The cost of steel must be going up because old school kitchen supplies aren't cheap anymore. Steel appliances & parts seem to go at a premium but plastics are dirt cheap. I was able to get this Steamer Basket/Strainer for free from the Vine program and decided to give it a go.It works very well for both steaming & straining. If you make a lot of pasta and want to lose your plastic strainer then I'd recommend this for those purposes which is what I mainly use it for.It fits well into another pot if you use it for steaming and the bottom raises it up about half an inch. The folding handles make it easy to store and use. If you feel like you can taste plastics when hot pasta has been strained through it then I'd recommend using this to get rid of that odd flavor from cheaper plastic strainers. This stainless steel strainer/steamer is a good option if you are in the market for one.

A simple add-on that makes my Instant Pot even easier to use
I finally bought my first Instant Pot as a Black Friday treat to myself, and I have been loving how easy it makes cooking. Once I got comfortable using it, I realized I wanted a few accessories to make things even easier, especially for steaming vegetables and rice. This steamer basket checked all the boxes for me.I ordered the large size to use with my 6QT Instant Pot and it fits perfectly. It feels well made and sturdy, not thin or flimsy. The stainless steel mesh is solid, and I really like that it keeps food lifted up out of the water for proper steaming. The silicone handle is a great touch and makes it easy to lift out safely without burning my hands.I have used this for vegetables and rice so far, and it has helped prevent that annoying burn warning when cooking rice. I also like that it can be used outside the Instant Pot, like in a regular pot for boiling or even frying.

This review is for Steamer Basket for Instant Pot Stainless Steel Accessories, Pressure Cooker Mesh Insert with Handle and Vegetable Steamer Basket, Egg Basket, Pasta Strainer (Large), reviewed January 2026.Pros:- Metal construction- Fits the Instant Pot- Two built-in handles- Molded feet elevate the basket from the bottom of the potCons:- Instead of coating the basket handles and feet with silicone, there are two weird little mini glove things to use to lift it out. Those won’t protect a surface from the hot basket and I’m not sure where I can put them that they’ll be handy right when neededSummary:This basket is OK, it could be better with silicone handles and feet, and the metal weave could be slightly tighter. It will serve, though. It would help if this were a better value than the other baskets that have those features, but at $19 you really aren’t saving any money by giving those up.
