Easy to clean, lighter duty due to synthetic inner material

I already have a set of cloth oven mitts that have a silicone sheath that I love dearly and I had been looking for a new set for a while. I couldn't seem to find any and was so happy when I saw these. I really love this style of oven mitt because though silicone is great for heat resistance, it can still heat up on its own. And while cloth oven mitts are great for protection from the heat, as soon as they get wet they are useless, plus they have to be washed if any food gets on them. This style is the best of both: you get double the heat protection but also easy to clean and no worries about the oven mitts getting wet.Though I like these, there are two things about this set compared to my older set that gives me some pause. First, the silicone sheath on these are much thinner than my older set. I can't hold on to hot pans quite as long as with the older set with the thicker silicone. Second, the cloth material seems to be a synthetic fiber while my older set is made of cotton. This worries me about how well these will hold up under heavier use or when handling heavier ceramic pans or pots from higher temperatures in the oven. I have only been using these to remove aluminum sheet pans so far, as I have not been willing to put my hands in danger by testing them on the hotter pans. If the cloth part was made out of cotton or the silicone was thicker, I wouldn't worry but with those two things combined I'm assigning these mitts to daily light duty use. I've had too many pot holders fail that were made out of synthetic materials to really trust it again.
