I bought the white version. It has 'marbling' and resembles my quartzite countertop so it is less obvious than a dark color. Works great allowing dishes/items to dry without any mess. It does hold stains from coffee & similar dark liquids. Stains can be etched off with the supplied sandpaper if it bothers you. If you have enough drawer space, you can roll them up and put away to clear your countertop.
I love this drying mat for how well it works and goes well with our current decor. We have had this for about half a year and it holds beautifully.- Smell - no smell at all.- Size - perfect size next to the sink- Value for money - I think this item is slightly pricey. But that's only because it works that well. Very high quality.- cleanliness - occasionally I have dropped red pasta sauce or flour on this item. It cleans really well, almost like new.- Folding - this folds really nice if you wanted to store it on the side
I use this to put my dishes on to dry when I wash them by hand. It always stays nice good value for the money. So far the dishes dry quickly it’s attractive on my counter. I put a towel underneath it but probably don’t have to.
I love the look of this product. It blended so beautifully with my marble counter. I was very careful about putting anything with color on it to dry. I noticed some spots that may have been coffee from a cup that was not cleaned well. I didn’t worry so much because I had the sandpaper that came with the item. I used the sandpaper and the sport remained. I gave it several tries and still the spot was there. With the original spot, I now have white scratches from the sandpaper. I think the product absorbs water well but I am disappointed that the sand paper didn’t make any difference.

I love how this looks on my counter top, it's much nicer than a plain mat. However, I did find it stains easily.
