The first self-purchased, non-Vine review

So, given there were no non-Vine reviews when I purchased these, I was taking a chance, but these dishes are actually really nice. I purchased this 12 piece set because of the pasta bowls, and I have another 16 piece set coming today with the cereal bowls and cups. This order was well packed and had no issues, so hopefully the next one is the same.The first thing I noticed was that they all appear to be hand cast, which in this day and age is actually rather nice. No two pieces are identical. They all have little droops or are slightly out of round and I like it. The glazing seems fine and the color is really nice, sort of a sand or camel with almost a metallic sheen to it. I know they say dishwasher and microwave safe but I think I'm going to treat them a little better than that and just go ahead and hand wash them. I have some similar dinnerware that I purchased from Pier 1 decades ago, and I've had pieces crack or develop dozens of little hairline fractures throughout the glaze over the years. And they were not cheap, even back then.The overall size and weight of each piece is substantial, and the spiral design is quite attractive. Honestly I looked for days to find something unique and that is an apt description of this set.I expect that if I treat them well I'll get a lot of years of use out of them. Three thumbs up.

Beautiful set with gorgeous large mugs

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I wanted a nice smooth matte set of dishes in a neutral color. This set is exactly what I wanted. The mug is the perfect size to have a nice cup of coffee without having to refill it. It's a very pretty, yet understated, set that you won't get tired of looking at.Size:Perfect larger than the usual mug.Weight:Just right. Quality:Excellent - well made and looks expensive.

Wonderful set of the most used pieces...

Firstly, I will say the quality of this set is wonderful...wonderful glaze, heft and size. It is not a shiny glaze but that eggshell type finish. The next thing you should be aware of is that this green color leans toward teal. I was expecting a truer green and was a little disappointed when I opened the boxes. I put them beside my other dishes, I have a true green basket-weave patterned set, another eggshell glaze olivey-grey-green everyday set and a few "cabbage" style pieces...they blend in beautifully...not a perfect match but a great pairing. I believe that these three sizes (dinner, salad/desert and a nice, slightly smallish pasta/rimmed soup bowl) are the most used in a dinnerware set and having these extra pieces to mix and match with my other everyday sets is great. I am very happy with this purchase.
