This teapot looks good and fits the burner on my stove. I use it every day and I don't worry about forgetting it on the stove because the whistle is loud and cannot be left open. It is of good quality stainess steel. It is not too flimsy and it is not too heavy. It works perfectly for me.
Very happy with this purchase. Kettle is sturdy yet easy to use. The pot holder mitt that came with it is very good but I don’t need to use it. I handle the rear, black part of handle and it’s not hot. The kettle heats quickly on my gas stove with the flame on medium/low, as suggested. The whistle is loud enough but not shrill. I searched for a replacement for an old kettle and this one surpasses my expectations. Also, it’s very pretty sitting on my stove.
The quality of the stainless is solid compared to a lightweight Amazon one I also tried. Appears rust resistant with the thick bottom. Like the look and easy to pour hot water holding the back of the plastic handle, which wasn’t too hot since I had the gas flame the size of the kettle. Taking off a star since I didn’t have the lid firmly in place and it fell off when I was pouring and steam burnt my fingers. Should have a tighter fit. I’ll use the nice hot pad next time. Button for whistle was a bit awkward to push to open the lid when water was hot. The water poured in a nice stream (not too fast) and made a good cup of coffee, so I’m keeping it.
I ready reviews about marks on side of kettle from flames. If you use it and it is over the flame even on all sided this is not a concern unless you are in a hurry and have your flame burning full blast. People remarked also about stain build up on the inside of the kettle. There is a minimum and maximum water level marks in inside of kettle. I have observed these marks every time I use it with no build up of residue on the inside. Another stated that the whistle did not work. You need to keep the water level below the maximum water fill or you will not hear the whistle as the high water level is blocking the steam from setting off the whistle. If you read the directions throughly this is all information that they are straight forward with. Workmanship is excellent and I know I will have years of use with this kettle.
I love this tea kettle. It looks great in my kitchen and works perfectly. It's not heavy either, which is a bonus!
The stiff handle makes it difficult to fill. It already has staining after short use.
Good value. Great kettle. Not a loud whistle, not annoying.
