Elegant, functional, and the perfect size for a busy coffee station
Design & Build QualityThe first thing I noticed about the BUITLU Sugar Bowl is the clarity of the glass. It’s a high-quality, lead-free borosilicate glass that feels sturdy despite its delicate appearance. The minimalist design fits perfectly with my modern coffee bar, but it’s classic enough that it would look great in a more traditional kitchen as well.Size & CapacityAt 17 oz (approx. 500ml), this container hits the "sweet spot" for size. Not too small: You aren’t refilling it every two days. Not too large: It doesn't take up too much precious counter space next to the espresso machine. It holds roughly a standard box of sugar cubes or about two cups of granulated sugar with room to spare for the spoon.Key FeaturesThe Lid: The lid fits securely, though it is not "airtight" (it has a notch for the spoon). It does a great job of keeping dust out while remaining easy to lift with one hand while you’re busy brewing. The Spoon: Included is a matching glass spoon. While it looks beautiful and is great for measured scoops, it is glass, so you’ll want to be gentle when tapping it against the rim.The Notch: The cutout in the lid is perfectly sized for the spoon, so the lid sits flush even when the spoon is inside.VersatilityWhile I bought this specifically for granulated sugar, it’s worth noting that the wide mouth makes it very versatile. I tested it with:Sugar Cubes: Fits them easily.Loose Leaf Tea: Keeps it visible and accessible.Honey/Jam: Because it’s glass, it’s easy to sanitize in the dishwasher after sticky use.Pros:Crystal Clear: You can easily see when it’s time for a refill.Dishwasher Safe: Very easy to clean; no hidden crevices where sugar can get stuck.Aesthetic: Elevates the look of a coffee station instantly.Cons:Non-Airtight: Since there is a spoon notch, this isn't meant for long-term storage of items that might clump in high humidity (like brown sugar).Fragility: Being all glass, it requires a bit more care than a ceramic or stainless steel bowl.Final VerdictIf you want to move away from messy bags or plastic containers for your coffee bar, this is a fantastic upgrade. It’s functional, easy to clean, and looks much more expensive than it actually is. It makes the morning coffee ritual feel a little more special.
