Best bread lame I've tried, cut so smooth
I'll be honest, I only used mine once so far, (just now) but this is the third bread Lame I tried and this is beyond Superior.I don't typically take time to write reviews unless I really like something and this cut through my sourdough like a steak knife cutting through soft butterA lot of times as you start to cut your dough, dough gets stuck on your razor and it stops cutting as good, that did not happen with this guy. When I did my main score I cut into there about 3 times and it cut perfectly each time and I've never had that happenTo open it I used a butter knife to stick in the opposite end and it popped right open, I did not have to use hardly any pressure and then on the opposite end has a strong magnet so you have to use a tiny bit as Force to open it the rest of the way. The razor sticks to the magnet so you're not having to worry about it falling or slipping when changing blades which I really likeI also really like that you can put away the blade when you're not using it, most bread lames only have a case sitting on top of the blade.This is absolutely five star

Game changer
This magnetic bread lame is fantastic and such an upgrade from basic razors or wooden handles. Much better than the traditional lame
I recently ordered the SUMAJU Magnetic Bread Lame with Extractable Blade and 20 Refill Blades. During the 2020 lockdown and grocery shortage, I started baking bread, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Now, almost six years later, I still bake all of my family’s bread, alternating between artisan baguettes and sourdough loaves.I’ve found that traditional longer-handled bread lames can be awkward and difficult to use. However, I enjoy drawing designs on the tops of my sourdough loaves, and I’ve found that a straight razor blade is the easiest tool for this. But, like any blade, a razor blade dulls over time, so I have to buy packs of razor blades and find a safe place to store them. I also have to be careful not to cut myself when cutting into the dough, as there’s not much to grip onto.The SUMAJU Magnetic Bread Lame is a great alternative to a straight razor blade or the longer-handled lame. It has safety features that a straight razor blade obviously lacks, such as a blade that retracts into the case. The short size makes it much easier to control your design compared to the longer-handled lames. I’ve never purchased a lame that comes with twenty replacement blades. This should last for a while! The final perk is that it’s magnetic, so you can hang it on your fridge if you want.At the time of my review, January 2026, the product was selling for $6.99, which I find to be a great value.

I’ve been using this bread lame for a few weeks now and it works really well. The grip feels comfortable in my hand and makes clean cuts without dragging the dough. I’m still a sourdough beginner but it definitely helps my loaves look more cutesy.I really like the magnetic feature, I just stick it on the fridge so I don’t lose it. Blade changes are easy and feel safe. Comes with plenty of extra blades too. Only reason for 4 stars is I wish the handle felt a little heavier, but overall happy with it and would recommend for home bakers. Easy to store on the fridge or anywhere else since its small and is a great price for all the refills you get.

Great bread lame upgrade
I ordered this bread lame because the traditional one I had was not only hard to clean and store (especially with kids in the house), but also did not cut as well as I hoped.This small lame was a great upgrade. I am able to store it out of sight, on top of my vent hood. The fact that it is magnetic allows me to be certain that it won’t move once I place it up there. The shape makes it is easy to hold and control while scoring my loaf and the blade cuts well. I have used this for over a month this regular use. I just needed to change the blade and it was very simple and safe. The magnet holds the blade in place so it doesn’t go flying when you pull the two halves apart when making the change. The instructions online are very easy to follow.My only complaint is that I would like the end of the blade to be a little less traditional, but I still really like it and would recommend it!
