I have spatulas with wooden handles that can come loose. For that reason, I favor these unibody tools. They're sturdy and long enough that they stay cool during use. I also like that they are easier to clean than the wood handle style. There are fewer places for food particles to hide.
I have a 14 in Wok and I had a Wok Shovel which which was a little too small, this one is perfect for a 14 in Wok, It has the right weight and does a great job of picking up the food from the Wok. This is by far the best one I ever had and I had a few others. No worry about the wooden handle coming off either.
This appears to be a very well made item. However, not only is it really too big for my wok, but it is too big for me. Description says 17 3/4". Is almost 19". I just cannot handle such a big, heavy spatula. I have a 14" wok and this is way too large to use in it. This would be perfect for commercial use and over-sized wok.Returning.
This is a nice one piece slid wok spatula. And therein lies the problem. It's going to be durable, and won't fall apart as it's a nice one piece design. But, boy oh boy, it's heavy. Doesn't feel it a first, but when you start using it and are trying to toss everything, it'll start to wear your forearm out. Now, if you have the strength, or do something like rock climbing etc. then this is going to be great for you. But for now, I'm not purchasing something a little lighter and this one's going to Goodwill.
Until I received this I could not have imagined that I’d ever be moved to write a review of a wok chuan - but this item demands it as it’s as near to perfection as can be!!Pros:Sturdy with good heft - this is not likely to ever bend even with the roughest handling. It’s not light weight - it’s the right weight; larger diameter handle making easy to grip and hold; well balanced; nicely polished w/o any rough edges; no open seams for food, water or bacteria to lodge; all high quality stainless so it dishwasher safeCons:None
Its a bit long. The weight is a bit heavy, and takes get used tol. I have a huge 18 inch wok and it works perfectly. I've also used a couple of times to get things off of baking pans and skillets. If you're in need of a good wok shovel, look no more!
