Impressive! Actually outperforms my much-loved spinner

My salad spinner gets a lot of use each year, washing and spin-drying lettuce and miscellaneous greens from my garden, along with nearly a dozen herbs. I've loved the one I have, due to its large size and how fast it spins. This one actually upped the bar, though. It works great. It holds more than my other spinner, which is especially handy for large volumes of herbs. It spins smoothly and with minimal effort on my part, and it is fast. The water slings right off. The brake button does a great job of stopping the inner basket without squeaking, which is another plus over my old one. It also helps that it is crisp, clean, and cute. The two features that really raise the bar, though, are the rubberized ring on the bottom, which keeps the bowl steady as I push the plunger, and the fitted lid that I can use to keep my goodies fresh. I'm loving it. It makes the whole process of harvesting easier and more pleasant. The one thing it does not do as well as my other spinner is release the locked plunger gently. To store the spinner, the plunger pushes in, and the lock slides across to hold it. When you slide the lock back to its original position, the plunger releases and pops back up. Being used to a quiet, gentle release, I was quite startled when this one popped up with a violent BANG. I will now keep my hand over the plunger while sliding the lock (see image). You have been warned. Haha.Given the heavy use I will be receiving from this spinner, I consider it (and its upgrades) to be an exceptional, quality-driven value, and I would order it again over my old model without hesitation.

Great size

I’ve never actually owned a salad spinner before, so this was oddly fun to mess with. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and makes washing and drying greens way easier than trying to pat everything dry with paper towels like a caveman. The 6.3 qt size is pretty generous. I can wash a full batch of lettuce or a bunch of fruit in one go without having to split it up. The inner basket lifts out easily, so it also works well as a colander for rinsing berries, grapes, or veggies. The push spinner mechanism works well once you figure it out. Not gonna lie, lol, I scared myself the first time trying to make the plunger pop up because it made more noise than I expected. After that, it’s actually pretty smooth and fairly quiet while spinning. There’s also a little rubber brake button that lets you slow it down or stop it instantly, which is surprisingly handy if you need to add something mid-spin.Everything feels solid and balanced, and the bowl is thick enough that it doesn’t slide around on the counter. I also like that once you take the spinner insert out, the outer bowl can double as a serving or storage bowl, especially since it comes with a separate lid.Cleanup is easy. All the parts rinse clean quickly, and it’s dishwasher safe, which I always appreciate. Nothing weird or hard to clean so far.Overall, this feels like a good quality, no-nonsense kitchen tool from a brand I already trust. Not something you absolutely need to survive, but it definitely makes produce prep faster and less annoying. For the size and functionality, it feels like good value, and I’ll actually use it instead of forgetting it exists.

Spin, spin, spin.

My existing salad spinner is about thirty-five years old. I use it one or two times a week. It was a supermarket special that is cranked. The flimsy plastic remains just fine after all these years. It was time to move into this century! This spinner is fairly heavy for me. There isn’t an easy way to grip it one-handed to move it in and out of storage. Aligning the bowl, basket, and top is a bit fussy. If you hand wash the top, it is easy for dish soap to remain in the mechanism. Those were the negatives that I noticed. It works very well indeed. The basket is large. Easily holds the amount of greens that I like to prepare at once. I rinse the greens under a stream of running water. Tougher greens like kale are massaged at the same time as the rinse. I shake the basket to get off most of the water before spinning. I typically do three spins and rearrange the greens between each. One of the photos sorta shows the amount of water in the bowl after spinning two heads of petite romaine. About a third of a cup. That’s not a lot, but it makes a big difference to the mouthfeel of the greens.

Good quality

I find the salad spinners all work pretty similarly, repeatedly pressing the large middle button will make it spin and this one is no exception. It comes in pieces so there is a removable piece that can act as a colander for whenever the need arises. Vastly prefer to spinning my fruits in one of these to dry them out instead of wasting paper pat drying. There is also a smaller button that acts as a sort of break for the spinning container. Whenever the spinner is being stored, there is a sliding mechanism which can hold the internal case in place. No complaints with how well it dries, out of the many spinners I've had, it dries just as well as the rest of them. I actually ended up using it as a simple colander a lot more than as a salad spinner. This is a bit of a big boy so if your kitchen is tight on space then you need to consider if the space this takes up is worth your valuable kitchen real estate.
