This little gadget works beautifully to quickly slice an onion without damaging your fingers. A friend of mine recommended it to me, and I liked it to much I bought two more for my sister-in-law and niece. I highly recommend this useful gadget.
This is quite the handy little gadget! It holds them round veggies still so they are not sliding around on the cutting board. An added feature is uniform slices done in between the prongs. The prongs are quite sharp, and it's very durable. I love that it has a nice cover also so no one gets poked getting something from a drawer. Great buy and very reasonable priced too!
Researched many styles of this gadget. My main goal was to get one where tines were a little longer to allow knife to slide in further between the tines for ease & speed of getting your cutting job done w/o a lot of stop/start. This one works just fine. My large butcher knife (well sharpened!) did nicely. Practice & number of times you use will show you the different and better ways to use to make the cuts you want on whatever you're cutting: you'll use differently on meat than you would, say, on a tomato or potato. I also like the shape of the handle. Easy to maintain your hold. Is sturdy/well made/easy to clean. Reasonably priced. Expect it to be servicable for a long time.
This does not work as well as I expected it would but it might be one of those things you learn as you keep doing it. It pierces the onion easily but my slices are a bit crooked and uneven. The handle works well and having the cover is nice for when it is being stored. Very easy to clean, dishwasher safe. It appears to be well made.
I've had it for a year, use it two or three times a week. Great for dicing onions, slicing tomatoes and cucumbers. Highly recommend.
Too short! Needs to longer to accommodate large knives and large onions. Great concept though. Works great on mushrooms.
