Our family has a tradition of having cheese fondue every Christmas Eve. My daughter brought hers as we had so many people mine was not going to make enough for everyone. I realized her set was horrible! So o bought this one for a gift. It is beautiful and even better than mine that I have had that came from my Mother-in-law in Switzerland. Can’t wait for her to use it. May have to have another fondue night thus winter.
We have a stainless fondue for meats and love it. This Swissmar fondue for cheese is excellent quality. I use the pot on my stove to melt and prepare the cheese and it easily transfers to the fondue pot holder for serving. The metal base of which it sits is sturdy - no chance of it tipping over. I placed the pot and holder on a trivet to safeguard my table just in case the burner got hot - but it did not. The porcelain covered cast iron is heavy which keeps the pots heated and cheese melted. The pot is very easy to clean. I used the recipe in the box and it is plenty for four people. Other recipes are on the internet if you want something different but the Swissmar recipe is very good. HINT: If you want to use the fondue pot right away upon receipt, make sure you buy the recommended fuel cans at the same time. None come with the pot. You will not be disappointed.
Made great cheese fondu! The cheese stayed melted the whole time. One tip, buy quality cheese and add a slash of white wine. Delish
I love this fondue pot. The pot itself is very sturdy and looks lovely. The weightiness of the pot feels like it will last for years and years. If you're short on kitchen storage space, it would also make a lovely sauce pan for every day use. The pot cleans up very easily and scraping the cheese off the bottom at the end of fondue was super easy plus it was delicious.The fondue base is also well made and sturdy. I love that it uses the fire gel instead of candles or something else. You can put in exactly how much you think you'll use and it holds a steady flame. Not having a cord made it easier to use in the center of my table without worrying someone would get up and trip over a cord. I also liked being able to start the fondue on the stove in this post and then transfer it to the heat base.This set is a little pricier than a lot of the other sets, but the quality level is worth it.
The quality of this is top notch. There are cheaper fondue sets out there, but I decided to go with a better known brand and the quality paid off. It’s very easy to set up and use for lasting entertainment
Great coated cast iron pot in the traditional Swiss shape, so yes, handle gets hot! This fondue pot works great for cheese and chocolate as well as versatile enough for meats or other proteins, without the need of separate pots. Easy to clean.Fondue forks aren't color coded!Easy to use for any occasion.
Excellent product. Good quality. It was bigger than what I needed, but good for 4 to 6 people or more. The fondue forks are not color-coded which is a drawback.
