Great feature upgrades compared to previous models
What a great raclette grill from a company that does a great job bringing unique, regional food products too the American kitchen. I own another version of this product with a granite top but it takes ages to heat up, and doesn't do a great job of hearing evenly across the top. This unit doesn't have the same issues. The cast iron grill top does take a bit to get warm but does not have the same difficulty with hot and cool spots.The double decker design on the melting zones is a tremendous improvement over previous designs. With that small change, you now have a zone that you can put your cheese scoop to rest when not in use that isn't getting heated. Great addition to the grill, in my opinion.This grill has a bit more power than other models, likely because of it's indoor/outdoor rating. I did find that I didn't have to crank it up quite so high once it was preheated compared to my granite topped grill model. Just something to watch for if you are used to other models.The rest of the gear that comes with this grill is very familiar for anyone who has used other models of raclette grills from this company. The scoopers are nicely sized and non stick. The scrapers are basic plastic. I really like the reversible grill top so you can decide if you want it flat like a griddle or ridged like a grill.The only bummer about these products is that most of the components should be hand washed. Technically you can put the scoops in the dishwasher, but they will last longer if you don't. This is a special occasion item so in the long run, you're not going to lose days of your life to the kitchen sink, but gosh it would be nice if that side of things could get figured out.All in all, this grill is pretty simple to use. It heats evenly and cooks meat and melts cheese just as you would hope. The additional features that they added in this model are smart and only make your dining experience better. We're fans and can't wait to host our next raclette night.

Fantastic Grill That Is Easy to Use & Fun!
As someone who has owned a variety of indoor and outdoor grills over the years, I have to say the Swissmar Verso Raclette Grill may be my absolute favorite. This grill is so easy to use and versatile that it easily replaces having multiple grills, especially for a two-person household like mine.The grill was very easy to put together out of the box, with only minimal assembly. I also found it be very lightweight and durable. I was able to do everything myself without my husband's help, with the most challenging part being cleaning and oiling all the cooking pieces for first use (as recommended in the manual). After ten minutes of heating the plate, I was ready to go.For testing the grill, I decided to go with something easy to cook and messy, an egg. While I did pre-oil the grill, there was a slight mess, but it heated up perfectly with little issues and cooked the egg as I desired. Best of all, the mess scraped off easily, making cleaning super easy (something that is typically only a problem with poor-quality cast iron). Everything cooked beautifully, and the cleanup was the easiest I have ever had in any grill. The little raclette plates also heated the cheese quickly while I was cooking, giving us a nice layer to top our egg. The cheese was super tasty, have a nicely cooked taste. I couldn't have asked for anything better with the easy cooking and clean up.I found only one little quirk with the grill, which may be just something with my unit. The electrical plug is very sensitive. IT will turn off at the slightest movement, so make sure you have a good connection (honestly, though, I would rather it be more sensitive and have safeties than risk a fire). I also love that it comes with eight little raclettes, making it great for entertaining too, since we love cooking with friends! If you are looking for a good grill that doesn't require much room and is easy to use, we highly recommend the Swissmar Verso and consider it a fantastic value for the money!

A great social tradition in our family and Swissmar makes a quality product
Ever since we went to Paris and enjoyed a raclette-type meal, we wanted to get our own. This is now our third Swissmar raclette grill. The first one we got was the Swissmar Raclette Portable Nordic Candlelight Grill. This was small and best used for two people at most. We then got the Swissmar raclette grill with the granite top. This grill was great, but the granite takes a long time to heat up, and cleanup can be a bit of an issue, and the apples we grilled on it stained the granite.So with our love of raclette and Swissmar, we decided to give this grill a try, and we are not disappointed with this upgrade.It comes with 8 cheese-under-burner melters that are also not stick and have heat-proof handles. To scrape out their cheese, each person also gets a little nonstick plastic scraper which won’t scratch the grill. The stove top can be flipped over with one side being completely flat and the other side being half flat and half a grill top.Now it’s time to let the fun begin! In my experience, raclette is all about the social aspect of everyone sitting around a grill laughing and talking as they prepare their own special snack. It is fun and easy for everyone to use. We usually get several cheeses, some meats like pepperoni, linguica, and sausage. In addition, we boil some potatoes, pickles, fresh bread and crackers, and cheese. Everything tastes so much better grilled, and we all have so much fun.Cleanup with this grill is super easy as the surface is nonstick. Swissmar is a brand I trust, and it’s super durable, and I expect to be handing this down to my daughter eventually so she can carry on the tradition.
